A great place to spend an afternoon. You can swim, walk on the jetty and see the cruise ships ariving at Port Everglades, fish or just walk along the trails and enjoy nature. We visit frequently and just relax and unwind. We bought a yearly pass and go often. This is a great place for a family outing. There are plenty of picnic shelters.

We have our own Kayaks and have done dozens of spots in Florida. We put the boats in the water at Dania Beach Pier, and took a leisurely trip the entire length of Whiskey Creek, I'm guessing a mile or maybe mile and a half. It's amazing that you can be almost in the middle of Fort Lauderdale and experience pristine natural wonder. We saw hardly anyone else, the water was crystal clear, calm and filled with schools of Mullet. We saw White herons and great Blue Herons, Ospreys and other bird life, (And the occasional 737 overhead landing at Ft Lauderdale Airport. At the north end of the creek, we were just a few hundred yards from huge cruise ships. We went ashore and did some shelling at the Beach. Just an amazing Sunday morning in a beautiful place. If you are not a Kayaker, enjoy the beautiful beach, picnic facilities and beautiful blue waters anyway

We have an annual event and this was our first year to use John U. Lloyd. The pavilion was perfect. Plenty of room and big grill area too. It was pretty close to the beach for those who went swimming. Parking was just off the side. We'll be going back.

I love beaches that are quiet and relaxing. This is a great place to unwind and enjoy alone time or time with family. You are not squished closely together with other people so you have room and a bit of privacy as well. Been going there for years!

The park is quiet, the sand is a little hard and slightly eroded, it's nice to get away from the crowds but if you want the best sand check out the beaches about 1/2 mile south of the entrance
