We took European friends there and we all enjoyed the displays and the fish information, despite the fact that none of us were recreational fishermen. The movie show is also cute. Across the street, the giant Bass outdoors sports store is also an attraction by itself!. .

“Not Just for Fishing Enthusiasts”
Reviewed August 5, 2012

This museum is full of stuff for the fish loving enthusiasts and the rest of us. Included are movies, dioramas, lots and lots of mounted fish of all kinds, and plenty examples of fishing equipment along with a small walk around an example of regional wetlands including an alligator pen and an example of a typical fishing yacht. The kids enjoyed the interactive displays including catching and landing fish using a video fishing simulator. There are many other interactive displays about fish management, ecology and anatomy. For the fishing enthusiast there are rooms dedicated to all sorts of fishing equipment, records, legendary figures and such.
Next door is the outdoor retailer, Bass Pro, with its immense store of all things outdoors and their many exhibits that is also worth walking through fro an hour.
The entry fee was $10 for adults; $5 children and seniors and those with a bass Pro Shop receipt. Other discounts were available online. Parking is free.

“One of our favorite local family places”
Reviewed August 4, 2012 via mobile

We've had a family membership for several years now. 3 kids and they never get tired of IGFA. Being locals were here at least once a month.

Great for the kids and interesting stuff for adults as well. At least if you're an angler or have some interest in fishing. Next door to bass or shops outdoor world as well if you're into that. Lots of hands on exhibits for the kids.

Friendly staff and comfortable environment.

“Good educational place to visit”
Reviewed August 2, 2012 via mobile

Went late in the day around 5:15 and they close at 6 so the lady charged us half price which was cool. Really educational and lots to read about. My son is 19 and he loves fishing so we enjoyed it very much. Younger kids that read could get into all the educational exhibits and it's neat to do the fishing where the poles are hooked up and you fight a fish in while watching a big screen of your catch. That's fun. If you give it an hour and a half I think that's a good time allotment for the exhibits if you read and do the interactive plus watch the 9 min movie. Go out back and check out the wetlands stroll where you can see wildlife and fish in the water. Right next door is a restaurant that serves seafood and Bass Pro Shop. Good place to stop.
