“Good clean suite hotel”
Reviewed November 15, 2013 via mobile

I was forced to come to this hotel by being bumped from a nearby Hampton Inn.
However this hotel is good.
Service was attentive and polite.
The room was well equipped, with two fly screen tv's, and a sofa area.
The food and drink hit the spot !
I will rerun here next time I am in the area.

We chose this Cambria Suites for our pre-cruise stay last January based on other reviews and the amenities offered. We arrived the afternoon before our cruise departure. Check-in was easy, staff was polite and helpful, and choosing our time for port shuttle was a breeze. The pool is nice and was surrounded by other pre-cruise guests. The cafe had excellent food and beverages at reasonable hotel prices. The rooms were very comfortable and well appointed. There are shopping areas very near for those last minute or forgotten item purchases. We felt totally comfortable leaving our vehicle on site for the 10 days of our cruise. Shuttle service was great both going to the port and returning to the hotel to collect our vehicle. We would highly recommend this hotel for any stay in the area but particularly for a pre-cruise stay. We are already booked for our january '14 pre-cruise stay and we are able to leave our vehicle free for the entire 2 wks. (This does require a stay-park-cruise package but it is well worth the slight up charge!)

This hotel is about 3 years old and nicely furnished. The lobby is large with ample space and some seating to wait for a ride or meet friends. The room we stayed in was some what small for 3 persons but ample for two. We had a couch with a pull out bed and a king bed. The hotel is very well maintained, quite, and kept very, very clean. It is close to the airport and the cruise port. The hotel offers parking for a fee, while on the cruise and transportation to and from both the hotel and airport.

There is no free breakfast but a buffet is provided for $10.00. Since we did not want to over eat we brought some fruit from home; otherwise one could walk to a Subway or Mc. Donald's.

Over all we have no complaints regarding the hotel or its staff except we waited 45 minutes for pick up at the pier for the return trip to the hotel and our car. The drive was 10-15 minutes with normal traffic. The driver said that we had just missed the pick up and he had to had a drop off with 8 persons before he picked us up. This seamed reasonable to me.

I would stay here again.

Room Tip: This hotel is hard to find because it is located behind a Best Western. To enter the parking lot, ta...

We needed a place close to the airport and cruise terminal so Cambria seemed a bit lesser priced yet higher rated so we booked a room. The rooms are actually suites with mini kitchens and separate bedrooms. The free shuttle from the airport was highly inefficient. There were over 15 people waiting and only one small van driver so we waited over 40 minutes to get to the hotel. The shuttle driver also had a bad attitude even though we tried to lighten up the situation for him by telling him it was no problem and trying to laugh it off. He did not respond pleasantly. The room was nice at first glance yet had a strange odor, almost like urine. Then we noticed a huge wet spot in the middle of the room and assumed it was a leak somewhere and the humidity was creating the odor. We informed the front desk yet the hotel was full so we had to stay in the room. There was little closet space and no trash can. The toilet paper spindle was broken and the pillows were huge round hard balls. You know they type. We went to get ice and the ice machine was broken and there was trash and food all over the ice machine room. Overall is was so so to ok yet I feel the hotel is being neglected and was probably a very nice one in its previous life. There is a breakfast buffet that is 10.95 per person and the same lobby/restaurant serves food during the day and night. It is walking distance to Subway and a great Cuban restaurant (see Las Vegas Restaurant) and about a 30 minute walk to a discount mall. The desk staff was friendly yet seemed a bit disorganized. The restaurant staff was very nice. The day shuttle driver was awesome, fun, efficient, and was a great last contact to the hotel.

Was seeking a reasonable and close place to spend the night prior to a recent cruise, and settled on Cambria Suites. Was expecting a clean and comfortable room, and that's what we got. Not luxury, but didn't pay luxury prices. Was a bit concerned when the cab driver picking us up at the airport had no clue where the hotel was . . . fortunately I had the directions on my phone. Located just off major freeway, and relatively close to airport and cruise port, but tucked away off a main street by itself.

Check in was friendly and prompt. No complaints about the room, and was actually quite comfortable for the two of us. Bedroom section is tight . . . closet door wouldn't fully open as the nightstand was in the way. Interesting design flaw.

Check out and catching what appears to be some kind of affiliated shuttle was a bit more challenging. Lots of folks trying to get out at the same time . . . a bit of a madhouse . . . but we figured it out and made it to the port just fine. Saw just one cab that morning, so am guessing the shuttle services are the preferred mode of transport. I will work on some alternate transportation plans if we stay here again.

Good value and as stated, met my expectations.

I am writing this review whilst in the hotel we drove down from Orlando yesterday fro a cruise today about a 3.5 hour drive Dirac 230 miles. We chose this hotel because they offer a free shuttle service from Hollywood Fort Lauderdale airport and then for $5 each take you on their shuttle to meet the ship. We paid circa £83 for one nights accommodation room only. All the rooms have a small lounge with TV with decent programmes and a bedroom with a tv with a wooden lattice between the two rooms. There is free wifi coffee making facility a microwave and fridge available also. The bathroom is excellent with a walk in shower and modern top of the counter basin. The beds are very comfortable and the room spotlessly clean. There is a restaurant providing breakfast for circa $10 and dinner menus if required. The port is approximately 4-5 miles away about 15 mins the hotel as small pool and hot jacuzzi If you are looking for a room for the night prior to a cruise at a fair price consider this hotel
