“Nice place to stay for a night or two”
Reviewed March 17, 2012

Stayed here for two nights after a cruise. Near the airport but not noisy. Very clean and nice decor. Good pool area with jacuzzi and decent 24 hr fitness room. No restaurant but there is complimentary cold breakfast, good coffee 24 hours and a small snack selection for purchase (including wine and beer) in the lobby. We had a rental car but the hotel offers an extensive shuttle service to area attractions for a fee. No cost for Shuttle to/from the airport.

My wife and I stayed here before a cruise, The staff was polite whenever we encountered them. We used the free shuttle from the airport as well as to local dining and shopping/nightlife. We only waited about 10 minutes at the airport and less than 10 minutes for pickups to/from other locations. Best of all, the shuttle is completely free (of course we DID give the drivers a few dollars gratuity...and noticed many others had NOT...which seemed pretty ignorant of them after receiving free rides!). It is a very convenient system they have...several drivers/vehicles, you pick up the phone and tell them where you are, and they come...just like that. The hotel was sold out all weekend, yet they had rooms cleaned and available for check in at 12:15 PM versus making us wait until 3:00 PM for a standard check-in. The pool area was absolutely spotless and well kept. The pool is large and we couldn't find a single item floating in it...like you typically find in many other pools. Overall, we would return here again when taking a cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale. The included transfer to Port Everglades on the morning of the cruise is also a fabulous perk!

Being close to airport/cruise terminal I would have expected better ability to handle late/group check ins. We had to wait 30+ minutes at 12:30am to get checked in. Staff was not even friendly about it...anywho moving on...

We stayed here three nights before our Cruise in February. We were delighted with the appearance of the hotel and of our room. We had some issues with our room type the first night, but they were able to move us to the room we reserved the following night. The breaksfast was good, average selections. The coffee was very good. The Front Desk staff really needs some attitude adjustments though. Two of the people we dealt with were very put off by their guests, or so it seemed. There was no welcome, no smile, no acknowledgment really. They were efficient and fast with checking in, and I understand they have alot of guests to deal with...but I worked at a nice hotel Front Desk for over 6 years and I know how important it is to greet/help/accomodate your guests. It felt very unprofessional and very unwelcoming. We were ignored more than once, we were told wrong information, we asked for dinner suggestions and got the bums rush. The complimentary shuttle was very nice, though. The shuttle drivers had pretty much the same attitude...they could have not cared less about us. To me, that is a major part of my stay is how the staff treats their guests. But if you don't really care about that part, the hotel was very nice and the hot tub/pool outside was also very nice.

Room Tip: Suites will have fridges and microwaves. Rooms are set back so noise is not really an issue. We we...

I thought they had a restaurant but they don't. Just your same old, same old continental breakfast with 200 people trying to grab a bite and catch a shuttle bus all at the same time.
The room itself wasn't bad, it's just not in a nice location, at all. Don't waste your time trying to get into the workout room, there is not enough working equipment...

Room Tip: The entire 4th floor sways... Get a lower room.

I stayed at the Fairfield Inn 2/15-2/18 prior to our cruise. From the moment of check-in to departure, the staff were warm and professional. The place looked new and was beautifully decorated. The rooms were adequate size and were very clean. I wished that the beds were larger than the two doubles but they were very comfortable. Towels were a little worn though. We did a couple of washes there. If you do it, bring your own detergent as it was $2 a box. The second day we did laundry the dryer was broken (only one washer and dryer) so they sent us to Homewood across the parking lot where the detergent was $3 a load (they had multiple washers/dryers there)

The pool and jacazzi were also nice and clean. The workout room was small with one elliptical and two treadmills and free weights. The one time I used it it was full with two other people but I didn't have to wait for a machine.

We really enjoyed the continental breakfast. Their setup looked very sleek and clean and most everything was individually packaged (unlike those buffets where you have to pour out the cereal from a bin). They had delmonte fruit in a cup (mixed and grapefruit). The Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches were also very good. (My vegetarian daughter wasn't thrilled, but she just took off the bacon prior to heating it up). They also had varied cereals, yogurts, bagels, english muffins, banana and apples; chocolate milk, and juices and of course pretty good coffee. You really had a nice choice.; I am not sure why people complain about it.

We had a car and found the location conveniently located off 95 so we could get to Miami or to parts of Fort Lauderdale very easily. I would hesitate staying there more than one day without a car. All in all a great experience and I would not hesitate to stay there again.

A good choice for a basic hotel in the Marriott chain. Free breakfast is a bonus
