“A fun weekend spot!”
Reviewed May 12, 2013 via mobile

If you're looking for the Hilton, go there. If you're looking for a great place to chill out then come here. You meet a lot of new people and the service and food are great. Good drink prices. The new manager, Erik, is awesome! Lots do do until the wee hours of the morning, good accommodation choices and clean (for a campground). Showers are clean, trails can be fun to explore.

I live in the area and have used the resort on weekends to get away from the hum, drum, family type clubs in the area. The sawmill caters to the single and seeking more adult style without the constrictions of the family parks. I enjoy the DRAG Shows as a change to the area bands. The Music is great and more like a disco at times (Depending on the show). Good place for people looking for a party instead of just looking at the trees. (You can do that too if you like). Lotsa people to meet and the new owners have remodled and brought it up a knotch. Much more modern than before. Love the clothing optional pool. I belive they are always improving to meet the standards of the gay society. Lotsa RV's and spaces, tenting and a community of the community. Very safe for women and men, isolated near the Withalcocchee River, Orlando and Tampa. I'm gonna stay awhile. Not for the boring or faint minded.

Room Tip: Bring an RV. You have what you need if that's what you need, but you'll have fun and meet pe...

Dirty, poorly managed, over-priced, unfriendly staff, slick'n attitude-ladden bartender (Ray) loves to short change you, poor value, average food, bugs, bugs, bugs (in cabins, food, everywhere they shouldn't be found). Will certainly not be back. I'll stick with a gay travelers sure thing... Provincetown on Cape Cod.

Room Tip: Rooms in Provincetown are great... you actually get what you pay for. "Rooms" at Sawmill...

Nice campground with pool and bars. Separate Cruising grounds are also available if 'needed'. Staff is very friendly and the facilities are ok - however, if you do not have a cabin with own bath (Premium or Deluxe) you need to use the shared ones which are very old and do therefore not really look very clean.

Room Tip: I was in cabin 29 (newer than other ones but you don't see it) and cabin 2 (older but you don...

Un-clean cabins, un-friendly staff, rates are high, and you get nothing more if you pay more to stay there for the mandatory 3 day stay.

Flies land on your food at splash, rats eat parts of the bread in the store room.

They have an ecoli outbreak in there water wells, but fail to let customers now coming into the park for a busy weekend.

I would not recommend this place to anyone

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we encountered a beautifully clean cabin, friendly staff, meticulously clean bathrooms and a weekend party atmosphere that I have never found anywhere else I have traveled.

The food is just OK at Splash but there are plenty of choices nearby and all in the community are welcoming the folks from Sawmill.

We have discovered some excellent restaurants nearby including Pearl in the Grove and Kappeli both in Dade city. Its nice to be a few hours from home with such a different atmosphere

Room Tip: The delux cabins have ensuite showers but I think they are too small- Just use the clean shared sho...
