This place was lovely. This was my first trip to Crystal River and we stayed at the Plantation Hotel as some family had stayed here about 15 years ago and enjoyed it. We stayed in one of the main buildings and it was perfect. We had a riverside view and the room was huge and the bed massive. We had an external door onto a patio area, which opened with our room key so that we were able to walk around the back to the pool and back again. The Tiki bar next to the pool was good, although the service here was a little slow. The price was very reasonable and it was a great place for unwinding. We did meet a family there who were staying in the golf villas and they said that these were of a much lower standard but if you're staying in the main building it is great. We didn't have breakfast there but we did have one dinner in the restaurant, which was very good but quite expensive. Overall we really enjoyed our time in Crystal River.

Plantation has a lot to offer. Our room was spacious, nicely decorated and clean with really comfie bed. The grounds are beautiful and the pool looked great. We had an excellent dinner overlooking the grounds and river. We went out with their tour operator to swim with the manatees and this was an amazing experience plus well priced. The bar was a bit of a dissapointment since it is also used for casual dining. Even late in the evening when we stopped in for an after-dinner drink, it was jammed with families having dinner & the whole place smelled of fries!

Room Tip: Make sure you do not have a room that connects with another. We could hear every word spoken by the family next door, plus kid noise of course!

This is a great place for a family vacation. The pool and grounds provide enough room for rest and relaxation. The price is reasonable. Keep in mind that this is not South Beach Miami... there are some dated aspects to the property. Breakfast service was indifferent. I would try one of the local places... actually Granny's is great southern cooking just up the road from the entrance. Over all we had a great stay.

Room Tip: The Rose building is the most up to date area.

My daughter and i were looking for a place to relax and unwind in the sun. Plantation Inn was perfect. The price was very reasonable for the services provided. The pool was beautiful and had great food in the tikki bar (definitely have the shrimp tacos) . The main restaurant was delicious. We ate breakfast (fantastic french toast) and dinner there 4 out of the 5 days we were there (lamb chops, perfect) One of the best massages i have had was in the spa and a great new haircut! The fitness center was just the right size to get you started. Tennis courts were a little dated, but for novice players we enjoyed (take your own racquet, ones on site have been "used"), but still enjoyed. The rooms were comparable to "Hampton Inn" style, not fancy but certainly adequate and very comfortable. This is a definite for return visit!

Room Tip: Not really much difference in views...because most water views you are looking thru people walking by, you do not go outside just big window. some of the ones you can sit outside on had people smoking next to you, so not enjoyable. I looked at all rooms while there and did not see a lot of difference in furnishings or views, so price really would probably be my best choice...resort is so pretty, you will want to be outside anyway!

This is not your typical "high end" resort. It's definitely got an "Old Florida" feel to it, but that's part of it's charm.

I've had the pleasure of staying here on my own, and recently the day after Easter with my partner. It was nice, but the pool was over crowded with locals. FYI - this resort welcomes everyone from the area, which is a great idea and service, but at times it can get rather busy with people from around town. I've been there when it's been dead and when it's been hopping, seems to be hit and miss...this was Easter time and Spring Break time, so I'm sure that was part of it.

The Tiki bar is good, but closes early, usually, which seems rather silly when they're swamped.

The property is very pretty and relaxing, and I'd definitely recommend getting a water view. We stayed in a Patio Water View room this time, and the patio was nice enough with the view but the chairs are in need of minor repair (vinyl slats missing here and there).

We ate in the bar restaurant, which had a great menu (similar to the restaurant itself) and the food was excellent.

Overall, a nice resort which is a little dated but it's not a bad thing. The service here is always top notch. The beds, if that matters to you, are hard. The bathroom/showers are a bit older but in good repair.

Room Tip: Patio Water View are nice with a sliding glass door. 2nd Floor Water View Rooms are nice as well, but no opening windows.
