Room is mediocre a little musty, the view was amazing we had plenty of manatees and a pod of dolphins swam through playing and having fun. The hotel restaurant had great food we all cleaned our plates.

I have stayed at this place on and off for 30 years, it's time has passed. They have a great location, bar and restaurant but the hotel itself should be bulldozed. It is substandard. Our bed was terrible, the room was filthy and needed a lot of repairs and the plumbing doesn't work properly. I had hoped that the owner was going to make some honest improvements but it isn't happening.

Room Tip: There are no good rooms at this hotel.

This is the ultimate "no frills" hotel, but it's location and relaxed management make a great and affordable place to stay - particularly if you want to see manatees, go diving, fishing or boating. Close by is a State Wild Life Sanctuary where you can see manatees wallowing in crystal clear water. Not attractive beasts, but still fascinating. Plenty of good places to eat nearby - and the hotel has an acceptable restaurant and a typical American Ale Bar.

Room Tip: A block is quietest.

This is a basic motel with a great seafood bar and restaurant and easy parking. But the main attraction is the location overlooking the lagoon and Kings Spring and the rooms have patios or balconies to enjoy the view. A dolphin swam up to the jetty one day but I only saw one manatee. For more manatees, guided boats are available from the hotel which allow you to swim with them.
There are more restaurants and shops about a ten minute walk away.

Room Tip: Rooms with balconies directly overlooking the Kings Spring are the best.

I've stayed at some of the greatest hotels in the world. This is not one of them. But if your emphasis is on activities and are content with a safe, decent place to put your ears to a pillow, this is great. I love it: it's Old Florida. If you want the Holiday Express--you can have it. I've never been disappointed in the accommodations, the restaurant, the location or the marina. I think they do a wonderful job with all of it. It needs updating--no question. Could they do it one room at a time? I shouldn't brag about this place. Some day, I'll try and won't be able to get in!

Room Tip: Stay away from the first floor on the water--that's my room.

Stayed here last month and staff here is friendly, beautiful place, family owned and cleaned.

They just changed carpets, beds at this location. Its used to call Port Paradise and its actually paradise if someone love quiet place.

One stop for restaurant, manatees and hotel. Food at the restaurant was great. Seafood selection is quiet good. Our Fresh Grouper was just made our dinner excellent with FREE SUNSET VIEW on the patio..........

We called last minute as we were coming into Chrystal River on our drive from Colorado. This was Thanks Giving weekend and is the season that the Manatees come into the warmer waters. The Port Hotel and Marina is right on the water at King`s Bay. Kings Bay has boat rentals and tours. Anyway about the hotel. This is an older hotel, clean but not remodeled lately. And because of the humidity in the area there was a slight mustyness to the room when we came in. The beds were not the coushyest but the service was good and we were thankful to get a room at such short notice at a reasonable price. The room is quite large with two full beds and we were able to bring in the two cots we had for the kids with plenty of room. There was a nice patio off the back that you could walk out on with a table and chairs for some out door relaxation. The patio looks out over the water and also onto the back patio area of the Ale House which is connected to the hotel. If your wanting the view of the water and a tropical atmosphere and not concerned with having the top of the line hotel than this is a decent place to land. We were only there for one night then rented a pontoon boat at the marina the next day so we could go over and snorkel with the manatees and swim up to the springs.

Room Tip: Second floor looking over the water
