Hotel is run down, air conditioner is noisy but if you can get past that this place is otherwise awesome. On the water. Great restaurant on premises, Near where the manatees hang out at... Other than playing on the water there is no reason to leave after checking in. If all you are looking for is a place to put your head after playing with the manatees all day... This is the place for you. Many old hotels have mold.... Though this one is older and in need of renovation... Our room was not moldy... Since I am allergic I would have known.

I have never stayed in a place this bad--and I didn't. We checked in,looked at the room with trepidation, went for dinner at their restaurant. Ant like bugs in both drinks. The food was food--totally average. The room -door looked like it had been kicked in,plexiglass for windows, rusty fridge, cracked toilet seat, grundgy bath area, floor looked like it had never been cleaned. With my kid having problems with mold-no way we were taking a chance. They should bulldoze it and start over. Location is nice and that's it-Stayed at the Plantation-wonderful.

Room Tip: Just don't stay there---

The location of this hotel is PERFECT for swimming with the Manatees. It is right on the water and the view from our room was wonderful. There is a decent restaurant next to the hotel. We were able to walk from our room to the boat for the Manatee tour. So....location, location, location is the key. The room was basic and old but seemed clean. The front desk people were very nice.

Room Tip: Ask for a river view room

We visited the port hotel and marina on May 18 through May20. The view was amazing. The rooms were clean and for that view the cost was cheap. We saw dolphins in king's bay off the balcony while enjoying our morning coffee. I would absolutely recommend this hotel and will def return again. We snorkeled, swam in the pool, and ate within a mile and a half of the hotel. Thank you so much to the staff for being friendly!!!!!!

Room Tip: Room 208 with balcony view was amazing with gorgeous sunrises and sunsets!!

We have stayed at this hotel for years. The location is Great. the rooms, well for the rate there Great. Who stays in the rooms anyway. But I want the owners to know how much we appreciate the management. Marge is the BEST. She does a wondeful job of making everyone happy, while still enforcing the rules. You could stay a a "nicer" hotel, but you will never find a "nicer" place to stay. When I check in it is like going to see a family member (the ones you like). Marge makes me want to come back! Thanks to the owners for having such a wonderful employee.

This hotel is in a perfect location for view and convenience. There is a dive center, boat rental, restaurant, and bar all on the property. Views of the river are spectacular. It was our first vacation in Crystal River. We went to dive King's Spring. Check in was smooth and the office staff was pleasant. However... this hotel needs much work! The old wooden stairway leading up to our room was a little rickety. While relatively clean, this property is old and in need of major upgrades.
But, if you are looking for a great deal and location, it's not too bad.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms have a better view of the marina and river. No elevators.

We were a little worried when we read the reviews, but were pleasantly surprised when we stayed here. OK, it’s not the Holiday Inn Express, it’s a $65 dollar a night hotel. It was clean, the view was great and we loved our stay. Had a good time at the Ale House happy hour chatting with the locals. If you are they type of people that freak out about a metal key and bring your own sheets to hotels, don’t come here. If you are used to Econo Lodge and love local flair with a great view and location, this is a great find. If you are used to staying at 200 dollar a night hotels, don’t stay at one of these and say how terrible it is. For the price, it’s clean and the location makes it a great hotel. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
