Top notch food and great service. A little crowded today but fun atmosphere nonetheless.

“Hotel manager said it washer fav, mine too now.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 31, 2010

Ate here with friends New Years Eve 2011. We saw it was #2 for the area on TA and our hotel Manager said it was her favorite place in the county. Itś about 30 minutes from Lecanto, and the last 10 miles was incredibly curvy and out in the middle of nowhere, but It is there, and its fantastic. They also farm their blue crab there, which is what I ended up getting in a garlic saute. You get a bowl that holds about half a gallon, and were more numerous than the stated 24 halves. Friends had the combo and the sampler platter, each was huge, and so well fried that each piece was light with no oily taste what so ever. The clam chowder was so full of buttery wonderfulness its hard to describe. Sweet tea like any good southern road side stand should. I will seek this place out again on my next visit.

“Delicious, authentic Florida!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 31, 2010

A windy, often talked about drive leads you to this restaurant. Hang in there! When you think you passed it, you are almost there.

Prompt, courteous service. Drinks arrived quickly (in canning jars) with a child-friendly cup for our preschooler. Appetizer, the gator sampler, came quickly and was delicious. The portion was smaller though. As was most appetizers witnessed.

Not the case with the entrees though! Our table had fried clams, whole here not just the necks! They were deemed delicious and not too heavily breaded.

The highlight of the table was the catch of the day, grouper. Grouper is known to be a sweeter fish, and it's pretty tasty in general, Pecks stands out with their almond fried style. Almond fried is only for those that LIKE nuts, sweet almoner goodness than you can see cooked into the fish. It also had a creamy, shrimp-based sauce that was addicting!

“Worth the drive”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2010

Enjoyed the drive out to this pub type restaurant. Excellent seafood and we enjoyed the complimentary onion rings, although we wouldn't want them every day! Good atmosphere and friendly service. Do you all drink out of jam jars round here??
