After reading a number of outstanding reviews on different review sites, we decided to try Pecks on our recent visit to Crystal River. We had not eaten at Pecks in many years and remembered it as quite good. My husband had the fried softshell crab, and he said it was excellent. I ordered the catch of the day broiled, which the server said was grouper, but we are pretty positive it was flounder (it definitely was NOT grouper). My fish was merely okay. Four of the five of us ordered a baked potato instead of fries, and they were all way overcooked. Our son ordered a steak; it wasalso overcooked. My sister and brother-in-law both had the seafood platter; they said it was okay. I think if you go to Pecks, you should probably stick with the crab dishes (softshell crabs in season, garlic crabs, etc.) and fries. Our server was good, friendly and efficient, but the food didn't live up to what we had hoped for and expected.
