“Wonderful people give unique experience”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

We came to Crystal River to meet manatees but also met with wonderful people. Captain Dawn welcomed us in the office and advised on the right behaviours with manatees. Our Captain Sam is an exceptionally competent and gentle person. He was nice and helpful and we had a true pleasure talking to him during the tour. He did his best to get us as close as possible to the few available manatees around at the time of our tour for best underwater pictures (of course, he provided us with the camera and at the end of the tour Dawn kindly let us download pictures from the SD card of the camera to our laptop.) Great experience to repeat. Tip: if you wnat to sight plenty of manatees come in winter; if you wish to have all the attention of the captain just for you come off the peak season during week days.

“What a Great experience with a great Tour Company!!!”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

This is an experience you will never forget. We went over March break. Our Captain was Dawn and she went out of her way to make our Daughters 16th birthday wish to swim with the Manatees a reality. What we liked about the this company is that they seem to care about the well being of the animals not just the bottom line. They take you out in small groups no more then 6 per boat and are very professional and informative. We had plenty of time to interact with the Manatee and at no point did we feel rushed. It was awesome! Hopefully the tours will be able to continue and education about Manatees will help improve their conservation. Thank you again for such a wonderful experience.

“Loved this tour”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

We loved this tour. There were only 6 of us on the boat. The boat had cushion beach chairs and a small toilet on board. The price included a wet suit, flippers, snorkel gear and a snorkel flotation vest. Some other tours gave the swimmers pool noodles that looked awkward to use. Since we were a group of 4 we also received a free under water camera. Captain Jim was great! He he knew a lot of facts about the area and the Manatees. When we got to Three Sisters Spring he parked up stream away from the hoard of other boats. Captain Jim actually swam with us and was our guide. This tour operator requires the Captains to swim with the group. He took digital pictures of all of us and they were posted on the Floridamanateetour Facebook page later that day, and they were FREE to download. Many of the other tours just dropped the people in the water to swim into Three Sisters by themselves. We saw numerous Manatee and a friendly baby. It is an amazing feeling to have the Manatee swim under you. It is very important to observe the rules of interacting with the Manatee since they are protected animals. They told us the best time to observe Manatee in this area is when the Gulf of Mexico waters are still cold,so you may want to take into account the time of year you take a tour. Also, Capt. Jim suggested Crackers down the road for lunch, which was a good choice. It's fish and burgers but you can eat outside on the deck by the water. We would definitely take this tour again.

“American Pro Dive Center”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

Blue Ridge Dive Club and Scuba Adventures headed down from the Hickory North Carolina to Florida to snorkle with the Manatees. We chose American Dive Pro Center, Crystal River, to guide us to the right spots and they did not fail! It was cold weather for Florida but out boat Captain Quinn kept us warm with hot chocolate. It was Presidents Day weekend and there were plenty of crowds, but on the suggestion of the Captain we did an early call on Saturday and Sunday and were rewarded with few people. In fact on Sunday morning our boat was the only at our location, and we had plenty of Manatees all to ourselves. When we got out of the water our hot chocolate was ready as we saw 4 fully loaded boats arriving while we were leaving. It was a great experience and perfect for any age. Much thanks to American Pro Dive Center and Scuba Adventures for putting it all together.

“Snorkeling with the manatees”
Reviewed January 25, 2013

My partner and I had visited Crystal River last fall and decided to take visiting family at Christmas this year. What a wonderful experience. We went to three sites before we finally found a pod of sleeping manatees, but once found, the baby woke up it's mother and both swam with us for quite some time while we gently stroked their backs. Great fun for families, and quite a learning experience, even for teenagers. Can highly recommend Crystal River Watersports and their Captains for a great trip. Because we were six adults, we had our own boat and Captain and even got a free underwater camera to use! Great experience
