My mom and I shared the Prime Rib special. It was delicious, and big enough for 2. Our second trip to the restaurant was for lunch. I had the freshly made chicken and dumpling soup. It was delicious, perfect for the cold rainy day.Our server Janel was great. She gave us recommendations on things to do in and around the area, in addition to good service.
The only drawback is the restaurant hours. If business is slow, they close. We were staying next door, so we could look out of our window to see it it was open.

Stop by at the Ale House for lunch and wow beautiful view and found Authentic Indian Items on the menu option of Chicken Samosa, chicken tikka and chicken curry

We tried chicken tikka and chicken curry it was just out of this world. Found out owners are Indian and one of the family member prepares Indian food. Can't go wrong on that.

Great outdoor seating, tiki bar and in the kings spring home of the manatees we found couple manatees off of a dock.

Love going to the Ale House and sitting outside and watching the boats, people and just eating on the water. The food is OK, and there are times when it is great. The place needs some serious updating and with the right atmosphere it could be even better. Staff is always friendly and service is good.

Went to lunch there today. Party of 4. We where seated promptly by friendly wait staff. Two of us ordered the dolphin (Mahi Mahi) which had cheddar jacks cheese sandwich, one blacken the other grilled. The fish was good to excellent. Moist and thick chunk of meat. One person had Indian Chicken on at stick. This was a winner. Two huge sticks, she only ate one. The fourth person had Quesadillas. All 4 meals were very good for a sports bar. Lots of TV's. It was a little cool to eat outside. Had $ 1.50 Coors draft, but we had other beers.

In short, for a sports bar, this place was outstanding place for lunch.

This has been part of my life for 50 years or more and is part of the Crystal River and Kings Bay scene. Don't be put off by the slightly shabby arrival scene when you park. Walk past the motel into the Ale House and through on to the open waterfront eating area. Kick back and relax with the view of the water. This is a relaxed place with food that's good. If you are in a hurry for service then simply say so and the staff will get you through in American time; but the point here is to relax!
This place has some film history (apart from being where I learnt to swim and scuba dive) - it was used in one of the Elvis films (Blue Lagoon if I remember). Back in the glorious days of the late 50's and early 60's it was quite a smart establishment.
Also visit the dive shop and get a trip out to the big spring!
