“Nice stop to fill some time”
Reviewed December 20, 2012

We were trying to fill a couple hours in between our manatee tour and dinner reservations. We stopped by the Yulee Sugar Mill Ruins. We appreciate historic landmarks so it was neat to see. As others have mentioned, don't make a special trip. However, if in the area, it is worth a look.

“Short and Sweet”
Reviewed December 14, 2012

These are interesting ruins but not big so it doesn't take long to walk round and read all about it. An interesting diversion but not something to visit the area just to see the ruins.

“Neat...”
Reviewed December 6, 2012

We drove by here and stopped on our way to our airboat tour. Pretty neat and well done if you like ruins. The area is small so there isn't a lot to see but there is a nice park across the seat where you can have a nice picnic at.

“Very Interesting !”
Reviewed November 22, 2012

Location is a surprise. Going to the Gulf in Hommosassas and there they are, no warning.

Lots of parking. Great photo opportunities. Great historical facts on something we knew nothing about. How they got the sugar and salt for the Civil War effort.

Amazing what can be done with so little. Plan on stopping there on the way to Monkey Island.

“Interesting but could make more of it”
Reviewed November 19, 2012

A little more explanation and TLC for this site would be good. Its a fascinating glimpse into the past, but is somewhat overgrown and unkempt. Blink and you miss it. This said, you just turn up and look at it, no fee, and its worth it if you are in the area.
