Owner description: We are the friendliest kayak store around. Crystal River is the place to kayak, canoe, swim, and snorkel with the Manatees. We have kayak rentals, canoe rentals, Kayak Tours. We carry all the paddling gear you'll need to fill your boat. If it's a new kayak you're looking for then paddle on in now and get out on the water today. Our own kayak launch site will take you directly to 3 Sister's Springs in 10 minutes. We are American Canoe Association Certified Kayaking instructors.

This Kayak outfitters is kind of hard to find, sandwiched between a marina and some other businesses, but it is right on the main drag of Rt. 19/98 just south of Crystal River. Plug the address in your GPS and you'll get there. Anyway, what makes it's location terrific is it's close proximity (a 10 min paddle) to the Three Sisters Springs. Stunningly clear water, white sand bottom. A real paradise to snorkel and swim in. The manatees only congregate there when the Kings Bay water is cold, but we encountered a family of the big fellas on our way into it. I recommend taking your snorkel gear along, asking for an anchor, and then swim into the spring from the entrance. It is all shallow, mostly knee to hip deep, so it is easy to get in/out of the kayak, even if you're older (like us). The office gal was very friendly, knew how to answer questions, and made it easy for inexperienced kayakers (like us). It was a wonderful experience.

Mary Morgan and her crew are simply amazing. I tried a couple of other places and Crystal River is outstanding. I rented from Crystal River several times in one week. They care about the resource, they care about you. The great part is they are eco friendly without being preachy. Don't bother going anywhere else. There are some bad places there. The only problem is they are a little hard to spot off the highway but take the trouble to get there because this is truly a hidden gem! I love to do business with people who believe in good business, community and kindness. This is the place to go.

Excellent experience, good price and close to the springs. The was nothing we did not like about this trip. Loved seeing the Manatee's.

We booked this Kayak based on reviews, and the fact that you can take it any time you like, your not locked into a 9am timeslot. We were not disappointed! A short 10min paddle (15 if you paddle slowly) to three sisters springs. Anchor provided, easy swim 50feet into the springs from where you anchor the Kayak.
Super Flexible, we headed off at 11:15am, we paid for 2hrs but were not sure if we wanted to extend to 4hrs, they told us if we wanted to extend we could, we just had to be back by 4.30pm! (Do check on the day if you plan to do this as they may have afternoon bookings)
We ended up taking the 4hrs, went to the springs twice, it was close enough to where you start to come back to the car for lunch and warm up. Make sure you get an anchor (provided free) and swim into the springs (Wet suit recommended - we didn't have one and got a bit chilled after 30mins in the water). You get such a better view from in the water!

We were not sure about swimming into the springs from a Kayak, You Can! You cant exit the kayak in the springs, you just need to park it in the canal and enter the springs from in the water. You MUST use and anchor, you will be fined if you tie up to vegetation or signs! Just bring a mask and snorkel.

Great independent flexible way to check out manatees at Crystal River and Three Sisters Springs! Highly recommended!

Great experience, we saw lots of manatees, and excellent customer service. We rented a canoe for a few hours recently and saw many manatees a short 15 minute paddle from where you launch your boat. We had done this same trip previously and had so much fun we decided to do it again. This year the rain was in the forecast and it was on the colder side (60 degrees). We expressed our concern about the weather and they were very accommodating. The owner herself ran out to a local gas station and bought us a bunch of ponchos at her own expense! They were also very nice and lenient on the return time because of the soggy weather.

The Crystal River Kayak company is on the main highway but has canal access that is close to the springs. After the 15 minute paddle, you arrive a 7 Sisters Spring. You can paddle into the spring, which is very pretty and we saw 2 manatees in there. Outside of the spring there is a roped off area where we saw about 20 manatees were resting or sleeping; they are protected from people and boats in this area. After that, you can paddle through the main canal, under a bridge, and out into the bay. Along the way we saw manatees swimming along. If you are near them and stop paddling, sometimes they would come close to investigate your boat. This is a great 1/2 day adventure and I would highly recommend it.
