We dove Ginnie Springs and headed back South to Spring Hill still in swim wear and wet. They welcomed us right in. Awesome waitress Taylor blended prompt service, great insight into food choices with a nice touch of "who are you and what are you doing." The meals were excellent from appetizers to huge entrees that resulted in a "would you like the rest in a to go box?". :). Captain and Admiral platters are a lot and if you plan on sharing get it all....if not, might want to really think about how hungry you think you are. You can tell a good place when the local patrons joke with you with a smile as they are leaving. A very good friendly atmosphere. This was a Saturday at 5:00pm, no wait. Thanks Dan's Clam Stand... You are now on our short list of places to eat when passing thru Crystal River area.

Went to Dan's the night before going scallop diving and we all had a delicious dinner. Started with gator bites which were tender, for gator, and moist. My son said his buffalo chicken breast sandwich was the best he has had. My daughter loved her fried clan dinner with a wonderful cup of "chowdah". Which was creamy and full of clams. Being so close to the gulf, I opted for the grouper sandwich. Man, was it good, Crispy, moist, fresh and meaty. Incredible! It came with tomato, onion and tartar sauce on the side with a fresh bun. Staff greeted us when we walk in and our waiter was friendly, offered suggestions when asked and didn't hover. We were giving extra tartar, buffalo and ranch sauces at no extra charge. Charming place with outdoor seating and everything was reasonable priced. Next time I go scalloping, I will definitely eat at Dan's!

We stopped at Dan's on our way home from spending a day at the beach. Although not modern, the facility is clean, and the server was friendly and attentive. We ordered onion rings as an appetizer, and they were tasty, but beware, the order is HUGE--easily enough to feed four! We had fried shrimp as the entrée; it was butterflied, lightly breaded, and the seasoning didn't overpower the flavor of the shrimp. Our entrées were served with one side dish; my wife had hush puppies which she rated as average, and I had cole slaw which was definitely below average in both taste and serving size. Overall the meal was satisfactory, and the service was certainly above average.

Dan's is a very good place for all kinds of seafood! We had the lobster-dinner (bring your coupon from the newspaper) : delicious clam chowder and a lobster) They prepare it for you, if desired. They will even prepare your own scallop-catch ! Friendley service, nice, easy going place, where you can take out your whole family! Extensive menu, for lunch and dinner. No cc accepted, but there is an ATM.

Came here because of the high tripadvisor reviews. When we are traveling near the ocean, we like to get fresh seafood. Honestly, it was rather disappointing. Most of the offerings are fried...we did have some steamed snow crab and some peel and eat shrimp which were decent. But there have to be better choices elsewhere in town. Maybe one that isn't adjacent to a run down trailer park? And perhaps without waitresses that are chewing tobacco while taking your order? And with some fresher, lighter options? Just saying.
