I love this spot for an afternoon break for coffee and a cigar in the quiet courtyard that has shaded areas and comfortable tables to enjoy with friends. Particularly on a beautiful spring day, the patio provides a nice place to relax. The inside tables are also comfortable and cozy for codified and conversation. Friday nights are live music nights and also provide a relaxing and quaint spot to take a load off your mind. I have been here for morning coffee and conversation as well as the aforementioned afternoon cigar and cortadito!

I came here for a business breakfast and had coffee and an egg dish. It was a cute place with a courtyard but very crowded. It was fairly inexpensive with a coffee house type menu. I asked for my dish with no meat but it arrived with meat (which I don't eat) so I had to send it back. They were nice about it, but it is always akward to return food during a business meeting. Luckily my dining partner was understanding. When the omelette did arrive it was a perfectly acceptable dish. Overall the food is average although the place is charming if you can go when it's not so crowded.

This is a Venezuelan establishment posing as an European coffee house. The food and coffee are OK, but the service is just atrocious. There are several other bona fide options for bistro food and great coffee; try Chocolate Fashion or Graziano's; both nearby.

This little gem doesn't look like much but has delicious coffees complete with a heart carved into the foam. The six different breakfast specials include eggs, croissants, and your choice of a mocha, latte or cappuccino. In the evening there's tapas and wine and the atmosphere is very comfortable. It doesn't matter if you run the Chamber of Commerce, you are interviewing for a job or just stop by on your bicycle. Everyone is welcome. And there are beautiful paintings on the wall that give this little cafe a more refined feel. There's a nice little courtyard for those who would prefer to be outside.

The coffee is good and the lattes have the cute sugar/cinnamon heart on the foam, but the recommendation from the hotel was to have the Spanish omelet and it was awful. More like a potato quiche: all potato with a bit of egg to bind it together; very disappointing. Primarily carbs; no veggies. The Demetrio's sandwich, on the other hand, was great although the potato chips were stale (too much humidity, I'm sure). Regular tomato/lettuce on wheat bread but the turkey & cheese had been heated so it was a lovely hot/cold sandwich. Those mayo/mustard packets are terrible though; that is very MacDonald's and should be changed to little cups of each. The outside deck looked nice but July is just too hot/muggy to sit outside for long (we were from the Bay Area).
Parking in the area is terrible; and this was on a Wednesday morning. Had to park in the bank parking garage across the street and it is $1.50 for every 20 mins. Ugh.
Overall: I have been in better coffee shops. For this area in Coral Gables, it might be the best; do not know since I am from out of town and was only in the area for 2 days.
