Description: Mexico.... home of Talavera, the unique fine art pottery from the 16th Century, native of the city of Puebla. This genuine and refined Mexican spirit of the Talavera art sets the ground for the spirit of our menu. From the "Huarache" grill, a series of delicate dishes served on a corn tortilla base, to a variety of regional specialties from Sonora to Oaxaca, from Michoacan to Puebla, from Jalisco to Yucatan. Talavera, the art of a genuine and refined taste of Mexico.

“Delicious, but loud”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

We had a wonderful meal at Talavera in January 2013. Margaritas were delicious and the guacamole terrific - large pork rinds served with it surprised us. Mole was awesome and the beef perfectly cooked. Beautifully decorated. There was a mariachi band the night we were there and we could barely have a conversation, however. If it had been a little warmer, we would have moved to an outside table so we could talk more easily. Easy walk from Courtyard Marriott in Coral Gables.

“margaritas and more”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

Returning from Central America I thought another margarita could not be a surprise. But it was. Talavera's Margaritas turned out to be sensationally tasteful due to their secret juice recipe. A very special guacamole with some crumbles of Cheese turned ot to be another discovery. More Mexican than Tex-Mex the menu offers quite a few dihes beyond the taco and encillada business. Everthing freshly prepared, nicely served, and delicous.

“One of the best mexican Restaurants in Miami!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

If you want to try the variety of the mexican food in small portions, you need to go to Talavera... Try the Cochinita Pibil or the Oaxaca Cheese melted with chorizo... Really good!
