“Gorgeous Botanical Gardens”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 20, 2014

If you like tropical plants and fruits then Fairchild Gardens is the place for you. The drive to get to the place is beautiful too. The 82 acres of gardens are gorgeous with several different areas-- butterfly area, tropical fruits, cafes and palm trees.

“Pretty near perfect place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2014

We had a great visit at the garden this week. It was our first time there although we knew a little what to expect as we have been to a few botanical gardens before. This one was very nice in many aspects. 1) The narrated tram ride (about 45 minutes) gives you an overview of the place so you can go afterwards and visit the places of interest, 2) The place is very well maintained, I would say it was immaculate, 3) There are benches and water stations all over the place so you can rest as you take in the scenery, 4) The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable, and 5) The food is delicious. I should also add the butterfly pavilion alone is worth a visit. You walk through an enclosed area and watch the butterflies fly around and even leave their cocoon. (I ended up with fantastic photos!) We liked the tram ride so much we took it a 2nd time with a different narrator so we learned new information. As the name states, it is a tropical garden so the trees and palms are from the tropics, and not only from Florida but from all over the tropical world. We spent about 5 hours there in all including lunch and I would say we saw everything.

“Beautiful Botanicals”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2014 via mobile

You'll see exotics from mostly other countries - non natives to the US and the walking tour is very good. Our guide Edith was very knowledgable and interesting. I found it reassuring that the staff doesn't let any non native plant take over and spread beyond the garden. A pleasant experience to walk this beautiful garden

“Nice way to spend an afternoon”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 7, 2014

Admission was a bit pricey but this is a nice way to spend a couple hours. There's a lot of area to cover and plenty of different exhibits to view. Definitely check out the butterfly exhibit and go on the narrated tram ride.

“A great place to escape for the day”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 5, 2014

The assortment of floral and horticultural wonders was amazing. I especially liked the guided tour so that we knew what to go back and look at. The butterfly enclosure was like being part of a fairy tale with all the butterflies flying around. It was especially fun to figure out who could find the most different varieties.
