“Like extended family”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2013 via mobile

I have a condo walking distance from Barrier Jacks. I had been seeing it there for years but never ate there. After I stopped in last year for the first time I am hooked. We eat breakfast there a couple times a week when I'm in town. Be patient if you have more than two people. They have several two-tops so when parties of two come in they are likely to be seated immediately, even if your party of four has been waiting 30 min. or more. That's probably the most frustrating part of the experience so be prepared. Other than that my whole family and friends love the food and hospitality. Anytime I have friends from out of town I insist on introducing them to Barrier Jacks and they all love it. We have some good memories and stories we'll be telling for many years to come I'm sure. Thanks

“Great place to eat”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2013

This is a great place to eat...specially in the off season after all the snow birds have gone home as it is nearly the only place still open. Seems to be a favorite with the locals too so that is always a good sign. The crab cakes were very good. The place needs a bit of a face lift on the inside but again the food was good.

“Great Breakfast!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2013

We enjoyed our omelettes, the veggie and the seafood with cheese. Both were large and flavorful. We chose home fries and hash browns for a our side. They were both good. The hash browns were very crispy. The bread choices include biscuit or flao jack. We had one of each and shared and they were both very good.

Our only disappointment was the coffee. It had a sweet smell, at first we thought it might have been an unrinsed cup, but the smell an weird taste continued with the second cup. Skip the coffee, of course that is hard at a breakfast place.

The other not so great thing was the bathroom. Filthy in the corners, even though this is an older local place, you can still keep it clean.

Bottom line, order food, skip the coffee and the restroom!

“Really good food but it was hard to get a table”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 11, 2013 via mobile

We went on Sun morn and stood around for 15 min before grabbing a dirty table outside and waiting for it to be cleaned. It's not a pretty place but its a place with good breakfast. We would go back again (and wait)

“Great Breakfast!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2013

We were in Cocoa Beach for a few days and had eaten breakfast at the local chain restaurants the first 2 days. We passed Barrier Jacks and saw the sign outside that they serve breakfast, so decided to try it our last day in town.

We both got the breakfast burrito which was absolutely awesome. Way bigger than expected, we each ate half and got half to go. Food is great, atmosphere is true hometown restaurant but clean. Wait staff is courteous and on top of it all. Lots of locals which says something....
