I just want everyone out there who is interested in trying this hotel to know that the staff (especially the hotel manager) was extremely rude and definitely does not have your best interest in mind. We recently reserved a suite through the hilton website. When we arrived, they tried to put us in a double room at the same price. After much aggaviation and several precious hours of wasted beach time, first they had a room, then they didn't etc., it became obvious that they could sell the suite available for a higher price than the one quoted to us. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL. We left and went to the Hampton Inn.

This is a decent hotel. In a couple of years it will need a renovation or at least a redecorating. You can tell that the carpets have seen better days. Tthe bathrooms are tiny, there was a crack in the tub and the lights did not light up the bathroom enough.

A major bright spot is the staff. They are very kind and they try to make sure you have a good stay.

We stayed here for 3 days for a friend's beach wedding and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was nothing fancy inside or outside, but the rooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable with all the basic amenities, there was at least a partial ocean view even from rooms not facing the ocean (we were on the third floor), the staff was very helpful with last-minute wedding needs, and the beach access was unbeatable. Our room faced the north side on the third floor and the central AC unit on the roof next to us a floor below was loud all night. However, apart from that one minus, our experience here was very positive and we would come back.

We did a lot of research before booking (and we checked loads of feedback like this), so we had certain expectations going in. But the staff and overall quality of the stay exceeded those expectations. Very helpful and cheerful staff at the front desk and especially in the restaurant. The room was fine -- for the market and the money. Great beds!...plus a microwave and fridge which are great for longer stays. The food in the restaurant was very good but kind of pricey. Pool was fine, and access to the beach could not have been closer.

A few side notes:
We took a room facing the ocean -- nice for sunrise and vistas, but the nearby restaurant A/C monsters were a tad distracting...loud and ugly.
Kind of off-putting that a beach hotel in this market would charge $25/day for a chair on the beach. They were hardly ever rented, so I'd think the mgmt might be a little more generous there.

Clean rooms, friendly staff, decent price. Beware of the "Ocean Front" rooms - most of them overlook the hotel's restaurant roof which has numerous, very noisy air conditioning units. Not worth the extra cost. Also, the balconies are anything but "private" - you are literally a foot or two away from your neighbors. Good beach access as well. Pool was closed for repairs during our stay.

First off let me say that I got a better deal by calling the hotel directly then booking over the net. PLUS, they have a cruise deal where you can leave you car at the property while on your cruise. You simply pay the Cocoa Beach Shuttle $4 per person and they take you right to the front gate of the terminal. My rate was $109 a night for a king room with balcony oceanview. Total with taxes, fees, etc was $120.99. With parking at the pier being $12 a day...we saved like $72 (cost of parking at the terminal) and got a great hotel.

The room was big, bed was OH SO SOFT, nice linens. Even the towels were great. Even the toiletries (all Neutrogena) were incredible. The best part was when I looked out my window there was the ocean. You simply walk downstairs and out the gate at the pool, which was nice too. Parking, here's the beauty, in most upperscale hotels you don't park and drag your bags in. They usually get you on the valet. Here the parking is right next to the property and unloading wasn't a hastle at all. We had breakfast at the onsite restaurant, which features a huge bar, anyway, it was good too.

I told my husband that I was so surprised we got such a great deal on such a nice place. If you are cruising out of Port Canaveral this would be a GREAT place to spend the day before. By the way, the beaches, they are so nice! Gorgeous lofty sand, and a beach boy who will drag two chairs and an umbrella out for you for just $25 a day.

In any event, woud not hesitate to book at the Doubletree again - matter of fact, I think I will exclusively look for Doubletrees. Not too stuck up, not too average. Perfect place for someone who likes to be pampered without all the fuss. Kudos Doubletree Cocoa Beach!
