“Just an average Hotel, but a bit pricey”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 10, 2013

I have stayed at Some Very Nice Hotels...This one is Average.
Dining was the high point, good food, wine and a nice atmosphere.
Everything else seamed to be well worn.
Was there for an event at a fixed rated, found out if I had not mentioned the event I might have received better pricing.

Room Tip: Check with other Hotels in the area. And if you must stay here, negotiate the pricing online etc.

Dear dstuartb,

I was disappointed to read that you thought we were average, we try to exceed guest expectations and I'm sorry that wasn't your experience with us. I was happy to hear you enjoyed the restaurant and wine list. Thank you for taking the time to write a review.

I always enjoy my stay at the Doubletree by Hilton in Cocoa Beach. The location is perfect. On the beach and in close proximity to restaurants and other areas of interest. Within a mile from the world famous Ron Jon's Surf Shop and a short drive to Kennedy Space Center. The rooms are super clean and spacious. Highly recommend!

We loved this hotel, very clean and everyone was friendly. Easy access to beautiful beach. Very helpful with information about area attractions. The cookies were delicious and they always gave us extra's when we asked.

This hotel was very clean and the staff was very helpful. They allowed us to check in many hours earlier than expected. The pool was clean and heated. The price is a little high but the view and being on the ocean I guess is worth something

Room Tip: Try to get an end room as the doors are noisy and kids running in the hallways could be annoying.

Dear 960AlbertV,

It was great to read that you had such a nice stay with us and were able to check in early. March is one of our busiest months of the year so rates tend to be a little higher than other months. Oceanfront location is definitely a plus! Thank you for your review.

If you are traveling with children, this is a great place to stay. Located right on a beautiful section of Cocoa Beach. The pool is small but fine for the size of the hotel. I would suggest paying a little more to be on the executive floor - hot breakfast in the morning, and happy hour free drinks (alcohol too :) & hors d'oeurves from 5-7pm. Kids can't stay in the room for happy hour but can come in to get soda & snacks to take to your room. Staff was very helpful & the little convenience store was well stocked - and prices were very reasonable. The restaurant food was okay - mostly a convenient place to grab a bite to eat. Overall a very relaxing stay. Nice way to get Hilton Honors points too!

I'd love to rate this hotel higher than just 'very good'. With its location, the views of the ocean, great restaurant, pool and easy access to the beach, it was a fantastic place to stay. A great place to stretch out and hang out at if you'd really like to get some time in at the beach. Chair/umbrella/boogie board rentals were easy and reasonable, the food at the restaurant (we ate dinner there only, there was a good selection of varying prices) was excellent, and almost every staff person was more than friendly and accommodating.

The only negatives - the air conditioning unit was very noisy, but it did at least cut out the noise in the hallway. We were in 408 (north side), right by the elevator and probably should have asked to be moved away from the busy area, but at the same time I knew they had given us a good placement closer to the ocean giving us a wonderful view. The balcony was great. The only other thing that didn't work for us was that we arrived without a car and there wasn't much to walk to in terms of restaurants or shops. There is though a Publix grocery store right across the street with an excellent selection of grocery items.

Cab ride from here to Kennedy Space Center was about $80 (for there and back), and it cost about the same by cab (one way) to the Orlando Airport.

Room Tip: If you like sunrises, get a room on the east side. The higher up you are (there are 6 floors), the n...

Dear Getawayguy20,

I loved your first paragraph - it sounds like you and your family really enjoyed our hotel, it's staff and the beach! I was disappointed you weren't happy with noise and proximity to restaurants and shopping. Hallway noise is not typically an issue but with March being such a busy month with families, there tends to be more activity. I'm glad you were happy overall and hope you will return again in the future.

I booked a partial ocean view room and was given a 2nd floor room over top a transformer with no view. I paid extra for ocean view. When i asked where my view was she said all rooms are partial view. No they are not. Just change your booking policy and make 2nd fl rooms standard rooms so in the future no one else will be mislead. They did change my room. Also they have 1 bell hop for this fairly large hotel. He was being pulled all over the place. I would have used a luggage dolly myself but they didnt have any besides the 1 the bell hop had. Managment: You need to hire another bell hop for this busy hotel. Now to the stay. There is direct access to the beach and they have chairs you can rent. Very nice beach and the pool area was never really that crowded and you could always get spot. Hotel is an older hotel but it is very clean and the staff was very nice. I would stay again but they need to have their first impression a more satisfying one. Never did get my cookie.

Dear mandmsj,

Thank you for rating us as "very good" overall - I'm glad you liked our location, the pool, cleanliness and staff. I was sorry to hear you had issues with your room type and bell service. I was especially disappointed you didn't get your cookie - that is sacred around here and should never happen! These are certainly not typical issues at our hotel but I'm sorry that was your experience. I hope you will give us another try if you are back in this area.
