“A decent option by the beach.”
Reviewed July 29, 2010

The fourth Hampton Inn on our US vacation. We stayed here to be close to the cruise port and have access to the beach. Some positives and and some negatives. Easier for me to break it down this way.

Positives
- Cruise shuttle was convenient and part of the room deal we booked.
- Nice mineral salts pool
- Close walking access to Cocoa Beach
- Close to Ron Jon Surf Shop and other Cocoa Beach amenities.
- Friendly and helpful staff (Great evening front desk staff who suggested great food options in the area)
- Nice large breakfast buffet area.
- Very secure location and parking lot.

Negatives
- a bit out dated, in need of some renovations and upgrades.
- Ocean view not ocean front rooms.
- Breakfast buffet lacked in options (nice friendly staff though)
- Very loud and old air conditioner.
- Business centre consisted of two computers, which were always busy.

Over all it was good for what we wanted. However, it is not the best Hampton we have stayed in. If we were to stay in Cocoa Beach again we would maybe consider this hotel, but would also look at the Hilton down the beach.

Rooms were just fine, and the breakfast was pretty good, but it's the location that makes this place desirable. You can walk about 50 yards down a sandy lane and be on the beach. The pool was nice too.

We stayed at that hotel for our family vacation this year. We were a little disappointed because we have stayed at nicer Hampton Inn than that one. The room and bathroom were a little narrow BUT clean (when traveling with children space matters). The AC unit made a lot of noise. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. There is a private path to the beach, only one swimming pool. It was very quiet for a beach hotel. The breakfast was average. The staff professional and courteous. We did not like the door that open to the street. Overall it's a great place, a little dated and in need of some renovation.....Great Value!

The staff here are absolutely wonderful, the friendliest and most helpful I have ever come across. After a lovely welcome and being given fresh, still-warm cookies we were given exactly the type of room we had requested with a sea view and on a high floor.

There are 'his & hers' sinks in the large bathrooms but unfortunately one set of taps didn't work at all and the other set, which were rusty and loose at the base, only ran very hot water. We called reception and the same wonderful lady who checked us in promised the maintenance guy would be there very soon. Not only did he turn up within 10 minutes and fixed both sets of taps but he then sorted out our fridge, which wasn't working properly either.

The room was not as nice as it looked on their website but was large, very clean and had everything you could possibly need. The lady at the front desk warned it was only a 'partial' sea view but there was a huge view of the sea from the balcony, it was just 'side-on' as opposed to being in front of the hotel.

I really enjoyed the breakfast on the first morning when they had all the usual items plus bagels with bacon bits and melted cheese, which were delicious! On the second morning however they had sausages and sausage patties which looked cheap and dray and generally unappitising. My partner said they were pretty bad. However, the coffee was beautiful and the daily blueberry muffins perfect!

Overall, great value for Cocoa Beach, although the hotel itself is slightly dated and the rooms (the bathrooms in particular) need a make-over. But the staff, the views and the breakfast make up for it! Highly recommended.

We stayed here one night before our cruise. The kids enjoyed the beach but that was about it. The room felt dirty and as a single mom I did not feel safe in the location they had us. When I asked for another room the hotel clerk was extremely rude. Needless to say, I was not accomodated with another room. For the price, it definitely was not worth it. It's old and run down. The next morning we asked the front desk to borrow a stapler so that we could attach our luggage tags for the cruise. Again, we were met with snide comments and rudeness and they didn't really want to let us use the stapler but finally did accomodate us. There were some other people that came in when we were checking in and asked to look at a room before booking for the night. When they told the clerk they could get a better room at the property next door for a better price, they were met with hostility as well. The breakfast was par at best. The beds extremely uncomfortable and we didn't sleep well for all the noise in the corridors. Will not stay here again!

This is a nice beacfront hotel full of families. It is a nice property on a shared lot with a Courtyard by Marriott. The same person owns both hotels, so u can mix and match between the hotels, pool, etc. The Marriott has a restaruant. Both hotels have nice pools. Room service is available, but we did not use it.

We stayed in Room 319, overlooking the pool with a moderate oceanview. The hotel is a short walk to the beach - probably several hunred feet. The beach is nice.

The rooms are on the small side but are clean. We had a king with pullout couch. Wi-Fi internet and color tv. Good aircondtioning.

Our bathroom, which had a few years on it had a double sink and the room had a balcony.

Overall, I think the hotel is very good, nice Hampton Inn breakfast. I only have a few complaints:

1:The bedding on the pullout couch was disgusting-- dirty matress pad and no sheets. I called the Front Desk and they came up with new bedding. I pulled the blanket out of the closet for the pullout couch and it felt really, really weird.

My wife's grandmother was a refugee in World War II and the blanket she was given by the allies was better than the one the hotel has for its extra beds. The blankets have a funky rubberized handi-wipe texture. I thought it was dirty. The gentleman from the desk came up with new bedding including a new blanket, which felt as bad as the one we had.

I told him about the blanket, he said it was not dirty but ageed with me they had a funky texture.

He recommended wrapping the blanket in the new sheets he had brought to put on the pullout couch. The bedding on the bed was the standardized Hampton Inn signature bedding, but those blankets for the couches and rollaway beds are absolutey strange.

Maybe too many were going to the beach or something and they started using these things but they are terrible.

2: My second pet peeve with this hotel is hardly any baggage carts. By my count 150 rooms and not more than 3 baggage carts. I never saw more than one cart at the door, and most of the time there were none. We were there for 3days. If u come here, prepare to schlepp all your stuff without a cart.

Overall though, the hotel is a great place and great for families and a beach holiday. I would come back but pack lighter and bring my own extra blanket. I have stayed in hundreds of Hampton Inns and never seen blankets like these.

Ive been vacationing to Cocoa Beach for years-- we usually try a different hotel every year. After this year, I am SOLD. What a deal. To have a balcony, be literally on the beach ith private access, POOL, AND get free breakfast daily.. I couldnt ask for more. The hotel was lovely and lways had fabulous recmmendations. They remembered our NAMES when we walked through the door. What a treasure this hotel is. I'm staying here from now on.
