“Never a disappointing meal.”
Reviewed March 19, 2008

This is a long time area landmark restaurant & does not resemble a shanty despite the name.

Always above average for a reasonably priced traditional seafood dinner. Absolutely reliable.

This should be a dinner stop in south end Cocoa Beach for most anyone. Always pleasingl

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! this place is great i went w/ total of 6 people & e1 was very happy i had 2 apps the rock shrimp & grouper fingers they were both great! others in my party had the blackened mahiw/ mango salsa (which i tried),a seafood platter,a kids pizza,+ other things, only 1 that complained was the kid pizza! yet still a great place 4 the kids we fed the catfish in the river outback there was @least 200 of them fighting 4 the food( the kids loved it as did i) corn fritters are great as well! only bad thing is the creole rice bland w/ no taste but this is gotta b the best place if eaten at in cocoa beach! & its very reasonable! u gotta try it!!!!

“Feed the catfish!! hee hee”
Reviewed January 4, 2008

I this the garden out front of the place with the catfish pond is very nice. The back porch/dock thingie is bland and is falling apart a little and isn't very safe for little kids to wander alone near the railing which looks like it may fall over if touched, not like you would want to touch the railing as it is covered in bird crap. There are tons of seagulls, so I wouldn't recommend eating outside. The food is good as is the salad bar. The staff is nice and the view of the ocean and sunset is very nice. I would go here again.

“Visit the Lobster Shanty Cocoa Beach”
Reviewed December 27, 2007

I was there twice on my recent trip to Cocoa Beach. Sadly the Red Tide was there and the crowd was small. The Early Bird is an excellent choice.. it is from 3 PM to 6 PM and you get a few bucks off your choice. Early Bird consist of a full meal, salad bar, cole slaw, entree, drink and dessert... price usually in the $12 to $17 range. I had the Scrod which was excellent, light and flaky, perfectly cooked. The Salad Bar is excellent... many choices of fresh veggies, tomatoes, cheese, lettuce, etc.. Jack Bakers Shanty sits right on the river, you can dine outside if you so desire. You can walk around to pier and watch the fish frolic and the pelicans do their dive bombing fishing exercise..

“The Lobster Shanty is the BEST kept secret in Cocoa Beach!”
Reviewed December 25, 2007

This restaurant is on the right side (A1A South) and it is absolutely a TRUE and FINE representation of Florida seafood (as opposed to the people chow you get at the canned restaurants on the strip). I live in Florida and can fairly make this statement!! This restaurant fronts the Banana River and is beautiful and very neat inside. VERY good food and the prices (early bird specials) BEFORE 6pm are to die for! The best deal I have ever seen anywhere and wonderful quality in the food and service. We both got a seafood platter, a trip to the salad bar, ice tea, and desert for $13.99 (all inclusive). You CANNOT beat that price anywhere...and especially with the food quality and service this restaurant serves. The ambiance is spectacular too. We had our dinner as we watched the sun set over the water. We intend to go again when we leave on a cruise in a few months.
