Last night I visited "The Fat Donkey" and left with a happy belly! The girl at the counter was so enthusiastic about selling ice cream - telling my family and I about the "Zonkey", "Jack Smasher", and dessert jars they sell. They have both soft serve and hand-scooped ice cream with tasty toppings (those were the BEST gummy bears I've ever tried). I ended up ordering the "Zonkey" - mine was vanilla soft serve, layered with mango sorbet - and plan on going back tonight for more! Five stars!! The people are personable, it's right across from the beach, there are tables/benches to relax on, and it isn't a "tourist trap" but more of a "mom n' pop shop."

We were recommended this place by a young lady who hadn't even been there: and it didn't dissapoint. I personally had just a scoop of the "Chocolate Cookie Cheesecake" and ho man lemme tell ya. It was fabulous! The one downside was there was little shade and no tables to sit down at, though benches were provided .

Our first ice cream stop of the vacation. We like places that have some twist to their treat offerings that we can't get at home. This looked like it fit the bill. Came by Monday afternoon and got the parking spot directly in front. Nobody else around. Took our digesting the menu and asking questions before ordering.

I had the mango Zonkey, which is layers of vanilla soft serve and mango Italian ice. The others all had chocolate cake hard ice cream, which had large chunks of cake. Everyone really enjoyed it. The Italian ice lightened up the ice cream, perfect for a hot day.

Waffle cones were usual commercial quality. Hard ice cream wasn't made in store even though they had some flavours we hadn't seen before. One of the dessert jars he pulled out to show us looked kinda small for the price. Menu could use more description of their offerings. Nice surroundings.

We'd happily return for the same stuff or maybe something new. Nice place.

Oreo Desert Jar. I had it two times. That's how good it was.
This place is located on a side road, so you'll have to look for it. There are no inside seats, but it has some bench seats outside. You might have difficulty finding parking but it's worth it.
We went in the evenings and never felt unsafe.

After seeing the add in a welcome booklet we wanted to give it a try. Their s'mores cake in a jar looked delicious & their name was hilarious. Our large group had s'mores cake in a jar, turtle cake in a jar, chocolate ice cream waffle cone, 3 different flavors of Italian ice. Everyone enjoyed it. ESP the s'mores cake in a jar. So good. Employees were friendly, polite, informative, & acted as if they generally loved their job.

There is little to no parking & when we were there there was little to no sitting places. But it is worth curb dropping a few people off & letting them pick up what you want while you drive around the block.......yeah.......it's that good. ;)
