Most will visit Clearwater but travel in the opposite direction & enjoy a great beach without hordes of other holidaymakers. The waves are not to high so no need to worry about the children. Downside is perhaps the lack of quality eateries buy this is why it is not too busy! Can't have it both ways!

We drove our rental from Orlando to the coast. We lucked upon a beach store on Meade where we picked up some Florida towels and an umbrella.
The downside was there is no where to change into our bathing suits and the bathrooms were dirty and stalls very small. We ended up changing in our rental car but that worked out ok.
The only other problem was the rental was dinged in the lot and the door handle was damaged.
The beach was great and the lifeguards were very informative. We had never seen a jelly fish before and there was a couple on the beach they showed is so we would know what to watch for. It was a purple flag day which meant there were a high volume of jelly fish. We saw several in the water and were anxious about doing much swimming. We enjoyed the day on the beach and a little bit of playing in the waves.
Overall it was enjoyable.

Although slightly busy for most times during the day, it was enjoyable. Some garbage, which is not the beach's fault, only inconsiderate and rude people. The waves are perfect for my 7 year old to be out and jump and swim through them for the whole day. Not sure what it is like the rest of the year, but this was about the best for us.

It is disappointing to see so many adult 'x' rated establishments in the area. The beach and Kennedy Space Complex are a family draw so these businesses detract and discourage families. C'mon Cocoa Beach get your head out of the sand and clean up A1A area. This isn't worthy of the place I Dream of Jeannie made famous.

Loved the beach and surroundings .. Walking distance to restaurants and shopping.. Good place to walk the beach or bike ride.
