We had dinner here. Food was average, there was a nice atmosphere and view of the water. There was a long dock to walk out on and take pictures. Servers were friendly.

On our way to West Palm to take a cruise
To the Bahamas and looked online for a place to have lunch.
This place sounded excellent ,Menu descriptions were written by a master
-couldn't resist.
Right on the ocean with tables on the sand!!!!!.-but a big sign saying due to zoning you can't have any booze on the beach - not even a beer.
Started with the lightly battered fried chicken livers.
came out very hard crisp over fried-asked waiter who said that is the way they usually come out- sent them back
Main course ordered the amazing
Sounding jumbo bacon wrapped
Scollops= 4 medium size scollops???
Again -overcooked and dry.
Wife ordered Mahi also overcooked ,dry
And tasteless
Conch chowder was very good
Right on the water -great view.
Go -but don't expect the food to be as described in the menu.and don't eat
Outside on the sand if you like a cocktail or wine or beer with your neal

It was a friend's birthday. We asked to move some tables around to accommodate about 20 locals. No we were told. BTW-the place was dead, maybe three tables of two or three diners/drinkers outside. Everytime one of our party would show up (Tuesday night 7 pm) the bartender and the waitress would holler out kitchen closes at 9. Finally we get a server, then mid-way down the table, the server stopped taking orders. So two of us went to the bar to get a drink. No. You have to get from the server. Yet server had literally stopped taking orders and dashed over to a recently arrived four top next to us, took their orders and returned with their drinks. We had to hail her to get her to pick up where she left off. Man, this could've been a super night for a birthday but the staff has no training in how to handle a bunch of locals (we're all 60-70 yrs and lived in CB for 50+ yrs) So next b'day we chose Breezeway (smaller venue, not waterfront) in downtown-ish Cocoa Beach, on a Tuesday night. No problem accommodating 20+ locals celebrating a birthday. Squid Lips Food-soup tasted canned. Drinks-had to beg to get one. Large parties are intentionally made unwelcomed. We got the message and won't bother you again. Nor will our out of state friends & family.

My family and I went to Squid lips a few days ago and I do not know where to start. The waitress started off with a terrible attitude and when we mentioned the Groupon we had purchased, she said “sorry we don’t accept this here”. However, my mother confirmed with corporate that the Groupon was allowed. Then, when trying to order chicken scampi instead of shrimp scampi, I was shut down instantly although chicken must cost the restaurant a 1/3 of the price. Our waitress said no before I even finished asking the question. Then, we got our dinner and AFTER we received our bread that we should have gotten the second we were seated. The manager then comes to speak with my mother who purchased the Groupon and made her forward him the email stating it was okay to use the Groupon at the Cocoa Beach location. He then comes back to apologize and tell us how he resolved the issue and was very polite about it. However, after we were completely finished and had paid the bill, our waitress aproaches is as we are walking out the door and says that she forgot to put the dessert on the bill. Who would’ve thought she had the nerve to do that after the attitude she had given us the entire time? Overall, the food was terrible as well. My grandmother and I each ordered a steak and they were extremely overcooked and tasted like they were bought at dollar tree. Also, the dessert was bought from the grocery store and was pricey. DO NOT come to this Squid Lips location even if it’s free.

The looks of the outside were kind of worrisome so that’s why I gave it a 4 outta 5. The service was excellent and so was our waiter Craig. He was very pleasant and informative and attentive. We ordered 4 different dishes and an appetizer. It all came very quickly and was fresh from the stove. None of us had any complaints. Food was tasty and plenty of it so we left with a doggy bag. If you’re visiting Cocoa Beach and looking for a reasonably priced place to have dinner , I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Thank Craig H
