Bed was hard and uneven, titles in the bathroom cracked and not clean, towels were broken, room smelled funny. There was trash in the hall. AC worked well but was loud.

Stayed one night (February 26, 2011) because it was close to the Turnpike and where we needed to be the next day. I've stayed here in the past (four years ago) and it has significantly declined. My rating of this hotel stay would be less than marginal. We were put in room 260, 2nd floor, way in the back, keep in mind this hotel is an outside corridor hotel, and from the car to the room is dark, creepy and scary. We arrived late (10:00 pm) and felt we could not leave anything in the car, moving everything up the flight of stairs, in the dark was frightening. I asked for a different room but was told that everything was booked. The next day in the daylight we realized that a large portion of the hotel (several wings of rooms) are not being utilized, run down and look abandoned.

The sewage smell was overwhelming in the parking lot and outside our room—in the morning we realized that a waste water treatment facility is directly next to the hotel. It was about 100 yards from our room. The good news is we could not smell it inside--the bad news, you could not walk outside without it hitting you like a cesspool. I can't image what it would smell like in the heat of summer.

As far as the room--it was tolerable if you do not want to get any sleep. The beds (mattresses) are horrendous, they are broken down, hard as a brick, and all around shabby. I would not say the room is dirty but it was certainly not cleaned well. A couple of very small dingy towels are provided, the TVs are small and very old and bolted in a cabinet and you can only view the limited channels if seated directly in front of the cabinet.

And now for the free continental breakfast—the only way I can describe breakfast it that is an absolute comedy. Regarding the food--it's an ordinary “free” continental breakfast so no surprises. Cereal, milk, toast, english muffins, yogurt, apples, oranges and cold coffee. What's hilarious is the eating area and the signs stating not to use the toaster and microwave “at the same time” (they are on the same circuit) if both are in use at the same time it trips the breaker. As you would expect--it happened over and over. Even funnier is the guy the hotel has standing around to reset it every time it trips (I’ll refer to him as the “standby reset guy.) I have one suggestion for the hotel—use the money spent for the "standby reset guy" to hire an electrician, or move the toaster to a different circuit.

Getting to the breakfast food was mass congestion and not because of the number of hotel guests eating breakfast but because of the hotel staff getting breakfast and hanging around in the breakfast area. It was the cleaning staff getting ready to report to work I guess. Unless they just hang around there and don’t bother cleaning the rooms—that could be the case. I was surprised how many of the cleaning staff (at least six employees) were in the breakfast area making breakfast and eating from the continental breakfast. They were standing in the way of customers, speaking loudly in non English (not sure what language,) taking up tables and in one case one of the cleaning staff was standing and eating cereal over the food—eww!

Lastly I must mention the horrendous customer service. We had a reservation confirmed for late arrival and rolled in about 10:00 pm. The desk clerk was on the phone with someone from their reservation department and let me stand there for fifteen minutes before assisting me. She was loud and abrasive on the phone and when she finally hung up to check me in she was very unpleasant. What a miserable welcome for guests.

The next morning checking out was just as unpleasant—the desk clerk was standing in the entryway smoking. The entryway stinks of smoke and cigarette butts are all over the ground. Never again would we consider this hotel. Less than ten miles north in Leesburg and ten miles south in Clermont there are many nice hotels. Drive the extra miles before considering staying here.

Our room was updated and very clean, and the grounds were well maintained and pleasant in appearance. We had a double bed room, and the beds were not top-of-the-line pillow-top type mattresses, but they were very clean. I have an issue when flat sheets are used instead of fitted sheet or when sheets are thread-bare, and was pleasantly surprised with nicely fitted, newer, very clean sheets! The bathroom area was spotless. We had no unwelcome odor from either outside or inside. My husband would have preferred a better mattress, but I had a good nights sleep.

The price was excellent! The young lady at the desk when we checked in was pleasant & encouraging. She made it clear that if we had any objection or issue to please call her right away and she would work to resolve that. We did not have any problem to solve at all.

The pool area was well kept, and the pool looked 100% ready for swimmers. Continental breakfast was more than sufficient, with coffee, juice, cereal, yogurt, fruit, toast, pastries and muffins. The young lady working the breakfast area kept everything filled right up.

Room Tip: We asked for a room away from much "activity" as we are early sleepers. That was a plus f...

We stayed one night this weekend on the way to Montverde for a couples massage at Bella Collina. The front desk staff was very pleasant and friendly. The room was clean and quiet. The pool area was clean as was the pool, very inviting. My only complaint is that I think they need to upgrade their beds. A nice pillow top mattress would have made this a great place to stay.

We arrived for a wedding and the front desk staff was immature and not the least professional. Many reasons showed this but that's neither here nor there. The banquet area was OK...but the exemplorary employee was Chuck, the maintenance, etc man. Quality guy all the way! Hustle, attitude that was caring, and a fantastic outlook on his very tough job. He and Tim had to do double duty retrieving very large tables and then undoing and retrieving bigger tables after another staffer messed up what we wanted/ordered. He took it with a smile and busted his butt.
Now, the rest of the experience...the rooms (bad), the grounds(bad) and lack of soda machines in and around the site made it a 2 star at best.
The wedding came off well, thanks to Chuck and all of the family pitching in but the hotel mgt. seriously needs to assess it's staffing issues.

We so enjoyed spending 6 days here. Very close to everything and right off the toll road. We found the staff to be very friendly. Our coffee pot didn't work and when I told the front desk by the time I got back to the room he was there with a brand new one. The rooms were clean and it was quite. Looking forward to spending another week there come November!

My husband and I stayed at the Days Inn & Suites in Clermont, Florida during the Christmas season for three weeks. We found the rooms to be clean, comfortable and quite enjoyable. We had a great time swimming in the heated pool with other friends staying at the hotel. I would recommend this Days Inn due to the friendly staff, pricing and cleanliness. We are planning another trip this winter to central Florida and will stay at this Days Inn again.
