“A Step Back in Time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2013

The Citrus Tower has always been one of my favorite "old time" Florida attractions. Take the old elevator to the top of the tower for a great panoramic view of the central Florida area. This attraction may not be too exciting, but it certainly is enjoyable. From the top of the tower you can see for miles and miles. Signs posted direct you to how far away and where various places are situated. You will be amazed at exactly how may lakes you can see. No, there aren't any bells or whistles, or exciting rides, just a clear view of Central Florida and a flash back to the 1960s when this tower was a BIG attraction. The gift shop on the ground floor is fun and loaded with all sorts of Florida souvenirs. After you browse, head north on 27 to Washington St., turn left and have lunch at the Tiki Bar with tables lakeside on the deck. It makes for a great old "Florida "excursion.

“Great flashback to Old Florida”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013

We saw this tower and decided to stop for a quick visit. You only need about 15 minutes as there is not much to see truthfully. It is a fun landmark and a great flashback to the 60s when this was about as exciting as life got in central Florida.

The tower is not well preserved for lack of funds and almost no one was there. But it's worth the small fee and elevator ride to the top to have a vast lookout over the area. It must have been amazing back in the day...

I enjoyed looking at the old photographs and imagining how exciting this once was. However, it's not very exciting compared to the theme parks but is a great bit of nostalgia and local history.

“Must see for tourist”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 25, 2013

This is Clermont's tourist attraction and landmark. Nice gift shop at the bottom with all kinds of unique Florida souviners. The elevator ride is really fun for kids under 15. This is what tourist attractions were like when I was a kid.

“The Views Go On and On and On.........”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

It was very special to view not only our lovely Clermont community, and our very special Lake County from here, but also several other counties and some of our many gorgeous lakes. What a breathtaking 360 degree view!!!! We had been trying to find time to visit since moving here, and out-of-town guests finally sealed the deal. The price was reasonable in our opinion ($6.00, but with our AAA discount was $5 something). As I said, the views were amazing!! The elevator ride both up and down was quite comfortable too--didn't even know we were moving.

****ATTENTION CLERMONT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND HISTORICAL SOCIETY****-There is an amazing opportunity here to make this a not-to-be missed historical tourist attraction, and to keep locals bringing guests back. There were only two sad 'sepia type' pictures of old with no descriptions explaining them up in the tower viewing area. There were a couple of 'signs' with arrows telling folks how far someplace was from the tower....but they were truly lacking---like a school project with posterboard and markers/tape....What is that all about? We were expecting more 'museum' type historical pictures with descriptive information up in the viewing area....and there IS physical room for this up there!

The gift shop where you enter at the bottom of the tower is lovely, and has a lot of unique items.....it is where you pay for....and access the elevator ride to the top.

In summary........awesome views for the price.....but more professionally done historical and geographical pics/information, would truly improve the experience in my humble opionion.

“Worth a quick stop”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 8, 2013

Stopped by with the wife and kids on the way down HWY 27 South to Legoland and Disney. Was kind of nostalgic as we entered the gift shop; it was obvious it has had its heyday in the '50's, '60's and 70's. The bell carillon was interesting in how it played all sorts of songs, even Top 40 songs.

The view definitely had a "wow factor" to it when first arriving on the observation deck. It was a 360 degree view of the lakes and hills of Clermont that went for miles. Even Walt Disney World was visible--could clearly see Space Mountain and the Contemporary Hotel in the distance.

It was worth a short visit.
