The Summer Bay Resort was quite the timeshare stay! Great resort and the number one was clean. My daughters and I spent some of our spring break here. TGhis resort had two 24 hour pools and hot tubs. The pool by hour building had a bar and grill open until 11 pm. Great pools and kid activities. Great service and staff. Would come back in the future!

The four heated swimming pools, with two open 24 hours, kid's interactive water feature and the lakeside beach with watersports & marina have been 'the place to be' this spring break! Glad you were here to join in on the festivities!

Summer Bay Resort is a great property with lots of onsite activities and easy access to major attractions. But there is a dark side to this property that you should avoid at all costs.

The resort is very well maintained and clean. Each cluster of units has its own pool, plus there is a pool at the clubhouse. A large lake has a beach and swimming area with large inflatables for the kids, plus wave runners or paddle boats to take out on the lake. There is an activity room with activities scheduled throughout the day. Every single staff member I encountered was friendly and pleasant. There are future plans for a stand-alone activity center that will include a theater, and an adventure park that will feature rock wall climbing an zip line. So this property is only going to get better.

We stayed in a one bedroom unit. There is enough room for two people, but I think four adults would be cramped. The furniture in the living area is bare minimum - sleeper sofa, chair, dinette set, and no stools at the kitchen counter. The bathroom is no bigger than you will find in a hotel room, but it does have a whirlpool bath. Dresser and closet space is scarce. Four adults will be cramped for space. A family with small children might manage it.

We didn't have the opportunity to avail ourselves of many of the amenities as we were busy watching our daughter's softball games. We took a walk around and ended up wishing we had the time to do some of the fun things. There is a pizza restaurant at the clubhouse and a larger pool side bar/pub at one of the smaller pools. There are also very nice homes with small private pools that can accommodate up to 11 people, and a hotel by the entrance if that is what you prefer.

But be warned. You will be asked to attend a 90 minute (which is actually 2 1/2 hours or more) presentation for a time share. You will be invited to attend when you check in, and if you decline, they will call your room during your stay. We fell for it, unfortunately. The salesperson was friendly until we said no, then it got real uncomfortable. He was upset, and hinted that we had lied to him about what we thought we could afford, and kept asking, "you knew this was a sales presentation, right?" Well of course we did. Actually, we were interested in what they had to offer since we were so impressed with the property. But we have the option to say no, right? The whole experience was a blot on an otherwise pleasant stay.

In fact, Summer Bay Resorts has a D- rating from Orlando BBB. I'm sure that is based solely on their marketing practices, not on the quality of the resort. Because it is a very nice place. I actually do recommend that you stay here, but book the room yourself and not through any kind of special deal where you are required to endure the sales pitch. Just be strong and keep saying no, or don't answer the room phone during your stay.

Room Tip: A three bedroom unit is actually a one bedroom and a two bedroom combined. Individual units share an...

We spent a week here over our Canadian March break so we were looking forward to a great break from the snow and enjoy some sunshine and warm weather. We definitely got that and more. We were here as a guest of an RCI member. They had not stayed here before so they did not know what to expect, nor did we. After reading some of the reviews before we left, I was quite nervous. The resort is much bigger than I had imagined, but it's not an overwhelming size. We had a smooth check in on the Saturday afternoon and weren't pressured too much to go to one of their presentations. After reading the reviews, I firmly said "no". We were called the next morning to be asked again, but after another no, they left us alone. They were not rude nor too pushy after I firmly said "thank you, but no". We had a 2 bedroom villa and it was fabulous! The rooms were spacious, clean and very nice. Our kitchen had all the basics we needed and Publix was right next door for any groceries we needed. We had a nice screened in porch which we loved and we ate all of our meals out there. We had wifi and tvs in each of the bedrooms and living area with plenty of cable channel options. The swimming pool was nice and big and very refreshing. The pool chairs were hard to come by, but we managed to enjoy ourselves. Our daughters and nieces rented a day pass to use the water park and it was definitely one of their highlights. They had so much fun! The bar has a bucket of beer for $18 which we enjoyed, good entertainment - not over the top or too annoying, but rather entertaining. We enjoyed a dinner meal at the Trattoria and the food was simple but delicious. We loved our stay there and would definitely come again if an opportunity came up. Our brother and sister-in-law came to visit us for the day and they've stayed at many different resorts and they loved ours!! What a great place to spend a week with the family!! If we can, we'll be back. We are not "fancy" people so we didn't not come expecting pristine and perfect accomodations. They were great and just what we needed. We could hear our neighbours, but we were surrounded by other families, so I didn't expect absolute solitude. We had our 2 teenage daughters with and none of us were bothered by anybody around us. I think it's a fair expectation that you can hear others nearby, but it's still relatively peaceful.

Room Tip: We loved the villa we stayed in. We were on the second floor of our villa and it was just fine.

The team at Summer Bay Orlando Resort is delighted to hear that your vacation experience with us over your recent March Break was GREAT! Thank you for your feedback. The Marina & Watersports have been a big hit with spring breakers this season and it is no surprise that this amenity was one of the highlights of your vacation with us. Offering one of the only lakeside beach experiences in the area, the Marina & Watersports is open daily, weather permitting and features lots of water activities including personal wave runners, motorized mini pontoon boats, themed paddle boats, and canoes. Also featured is an Aqua Park where guests can climb, slide and splash all day long. Rental and usage fees do apply for these amenities. It sounds like your grandchildren made lasting memories with you this March. We look forward to welcoming you back again in the future!

Stayed here two weeks ago with RCI timeshare and I think it's ideal for a family vacation, could be better, but wasn't bad. It's a beautiful place with pools, a lake and water activities as well as great condo space.

The loves:
2 Bedroom room is huge! We fit 7 people comfortably. We went to Wal-Mart up the street for groceries, stocked the fridge with food and beer and saved some money instead of ordering out each meal. Buy burgers and cook up some burgers on the resort grills! Loved the deck off our room, great view of the grounds. The pools here are really big, open 24 hours, apparently heated (I never went in) but the kids absolutely loved it. The Tiki Bar and the Big Kahuna bars make really great drinks and the bartenders are awesome - super friendly and personable. My favorite drink was the Twisted Limbo, or Limbo Twist? Something like that. And my dad and fiancé were living on Kokomo's Revenge, its a blue drink. The activities were a great add on for families. Adult bingo, magician's, movie nights by the pool, zumba etc. oh wait, I cant forget buttercup the alligator that comes to visit :) Water trampolines and slides, jet ski's and fishing, but not free. Housekeeping if you call them and need something, you'll get it in a hour or so. Shuttle to Disney, though we choose to drive ourselves, it was nice that it was available.

The Not So Great:
WiFi, Hornet's in my room? Yeah, some how they were slipping through the sliding doors and built a nest in the master bedroom. Dishes not so clean. You'd think housekeeping would run the dishes through the dishwashers in each room before new guests come. Beds not so comfy.
Pool towels, They're like the size of a dish rag lol.

Overall, yes I'd definitely stay here again. My family had a nice time.

My wife and I( using our timeshare) just returned a week(March Break) ago from Summer Bay Resort in Clermont Florida. It is about 30 minutes or so from Orlando Airport. We had a super one bedroom place with a kitchen(dishwasher), washer/drier, livingroom,TV. the place was very clean. Nice and quiet area. Just a 2 minute walk to the pool area and 4 to 5 minute walk to the club house pool area. The grounds were very well kept up. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. The is a free bus pick and return for any of the Diseny Parks. They have great restuarants and shopping in the area.

This is a great place for families and couples. I am hoping next to go with my kids and grandchildren. Enjoy!!!

we exchanged through our time share for summer bay 2 bedroom villa. nice and clean, comfortable beds, quiet place! pools were nice, clean and of good size. pools had towels to use most of the time. they could use some more beach chairs as those get used very early in the am. restaurant on site is like a deli, not a nice sit down and food is okay. we didn't get bothered by staff and they were helpful when we needed them. this place is literally 6 miles from Disney and right out from the property is tons of restaurants, target, and gift stores. we felt safe in the area.

Our stay at this resort was great. We stayed in a 2 bath/2 bedroom condo with a patio, kitchen, dishwasher and laundry in the suite. The rooms were very large and open. One bedroom had a king bed with it's own bathroom (separate tub and shower) and the other had two full size beds. The bathroom was next door. The TV in the living room was huge which was great. With everything right in our room I felt like I was at home. The place was clean and we received more than enough dish washing liquid and such at check-in (as we usually do when using the timeshare). The kitchen was well stocked and we used it daily to make breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are nice grills on the grounds also that we took advantage of. There are many pools on the property. Some are specifically geared towards children. I was travelling with just my husband so we used the pool closest to our building. There were kids but it wasn't crowded. The clubhouse pool has a tiki bar that we also used. There is a lake behind the clubhouse with a "beach" that we didn't use but it looked nice. This hotel does offer shuttles to Disney and Universal. We didn't take advantage of the shuttle because we only went to Universal and the shuttle left around 7 am and picked up around 730 pm. We ended up driving and paying to park (16 bucks wasn't bad). The shuttle also goes to Publix, the grocery store on the property which was a nice feature. The staff was friendly and helpful. They have stamps at the front desk and a cute restaurant on premises that will deliver to your room. The resort is building a few new condos and I think a new activity center. I would love to get back to see it. The only thing I will say is we used our RCI points and we paid a $55 housekeeping fee when checking in because we weren't staying a full week. If using RCI it might be worth it to just get the week and avoid the extra fees. It might end up being the same price or cheaper.
