“Stayed in the Condo's this time”

We just got back from our stay in one of the 2 bedroom condos overlooking the pool.
We stayed in the houses before and loved ,loved it ....This time they did not have any available so we took a two bedroom in the 400 block.
Very ,very nice condo with pretty new furnishings and top floor....We stayed a week and took in many sites while there.....This is a great location to base your holiday from and the pools are great to spend a day just swimming and lounging.
We love summer bay for the location and the fact it is not too big but has everything you need.
Shopping is close by as are most locations to eat you could ever want.
The Condo was clean and quiet and we hated to leave , but all good things must end.
Enjoy and don't worry about Summer bay not meeting your expectations....It is great.
Just be advised that the Villa's are not the new Condo's....You want the 400 or 500 condo's nothing in the 100's unless you want cheap and don't mind the noise.....Your choice.

Room Tip: Be aware of which type of condo you are booking ......Villa's are older ....Condo's are newe...

We came here for three nights along with another couple who had agreed to attend a timeshare presentation. Initially we were promised a morning presentation, so that we would have the rest of the day for ourselves to go to Disney. However, when we signed in we were told that the mornings were all booked. Having to attend the presentation in the middle of the day means you can't really do much outside of the resort, so that basically shot the whole day. When we complained, they threatened to cancel us altogether which would mean an extra $200 charge for the rooms. Fortunately, as guests, it turned out we didn't have to attend, but our friends told us the presentation was really high pressure, so take warning.

The 2 bed, 2 bath unit we were given was pretty old, but clean. It did have a large flat screen TV in the living room, but only full size beds in both bedrooms. Also, as has been mentioned there was no internet connection except in the resort lobby in another building. There were several pools which all seemed nice, plus a small beach on a lake. There seemed to be plenty of organized activities, and stuff to do for kids. Other than the timeshare people, the staff was friendly and attentive.

The location is close to Disney, but further from Universal and other Orlando attractions.

All in all, it was worth the reduced price we paid, but I still wouldn't care to stay here again.

This was our second time staying at this Resort, but the first time for a full week. We had a two-bedroom unit in the Villas section. It was very spacious with a large living room, and decent sized kitchen. While clean, some of the furniture and bedding could use some updating as it is just looking very used, but at least the decor is not nearly as bad as most similar resorts. Having two bathrooms in the two bedroom unit was great as we didn't need to get up nearly as early to get everyone ready in the mornings. While the units did not have private balconies in this and the other surrounding buildings, the rooms were laid out within the buildings in a way that just outside the front door was a sort of semi-private balcony with chairs and a little table. While it was open to allow access to the corridors and stairs, it was still nice to have a place to sit in the mornings or evenings outside.

The grounds are maintained very well and we saw the grounds staff working every day to make sure they stayed clean and trimmed. The resort does offer a lot of amenities like miniature golf, a tiki bar, etc that we did not take advantage of so I can't really comment on these. It is nice, though, that there is a Publix grocery store on site.

It would be nice if there was free internet available as now even most small cheaper motels and hotes offer free WiFi instead of charging an exhorbitant nightly or weekly fee like Summer Bay does.

The location is great. Only 6 miles from WDW and right on US 192 which makes it easy to find and easy to get anywhere in the area you might be going.

We will almost certainly be staying here again on our next week-long vacation to the area.

As a first time RCI stay I was not impressed. The unit was not clean, stains on carpet, furniture old and warn. We were moved to another suite but it was only marginally better..better furniture but cob webs and dust in every room.

One complaint everyone had was the lack of Internet capability...available for a
cost. Very pricey yet most other hotels in the area advertised Free wifi service.

Grounds of property were very well maintained. New units in process of being built.

The older units, which we were placed in, definitely need updating but there is no excuse for the lack of cleanliness.

We stayed at this resort in Orlando and found the accommodations and facilities to be good. HOWEVER, DON'T BUY INTO THEIR VACATION PACKAGES! They offer tours and stay at other resorts at no charge as long as you complete a tour and sales presentation. We accepted and were booked into a resort in Daytona Beach. We stayed at the resort, but were never scheduled to attend a sales presentation. After we left we found that they charged us a $199 fee for not attending a "scheduled" tour. When we complained we were told it would be the $199 non attendance fee or a $120/ night booking fee. What a rip-off

I have stayed at Summer Bay several times and have always loved this part of Kissimme just off of RT192. Summer Bay is a beautiful resort with lots of activities. The pool areas are beautiful, rooms are spacious, clean and bedding very comfortable!

They have a small sandy beach area where you can sun bath, plus, a beautiful pier to walk out on with a gazebo at the end to sit and relax and maybe feed the fish!

The three bedroom units are fabulous if you're able to rent one!! You have your own privare pool!! Beautiful floor plan !!

I would go back in a heart beat!!

There is a Walmart Super Store a mile away on RT 27 to do your grocery shopping. Miller's Ale House is a great place to eat, it's about a mile away!!

First of all, I was impressed with the manager, Yolanda, who, prior to our arrival, graciously helped us with a reservation problem that was our fault. When the washing machine stopped working, one of staff fixed it within minutes. If we needed extra dishwashing soap, whatever, it was provided immediately. Upon leaving, we hurrying to get out on time, the friendly maids saw us trying to pack up quickly and said, 'No hurry, take your time." All of the staff were really considerate. If you have children, the spacious-craft room is the best I've seen at any timeshare resort, as is the beach area and three pools. The resort provides shuttle service to Disney World and other Orlando attractions; Disney is six miles away. You can purchase Disney tickets in the club house. The resort site's cleanliness is really appreciated. If you don't like a hard pillow, bring your own.. There is a Wi-Fi area at the club house and around the relaxing-pool area. The Publix is the first right turn out of the resort, 2 minutes away! The unit was fine. I liked the large table as there was ten of us for dinner one night. The second bedroom has two queen beds, cramped, but for a week it worked. The master is huge. The storage unit in the living room had six large storage cubes, handy for extra clothes, books, toys, etc. Our family would be happy staying at Summer Bay again!

Room Tip: It is quiet on the fourth floor, even with the pool across the street.
