“Good Location, Helpful Staff”
Reviewed March 29, 2012

It was a last minute trip for us. One of those pack up the car and go. So we did not make reservations or anything. We got to clearwater and ZERO hotel rooms on the beach at all. Spring Break. We had settled with the Hi-Seas. I work for a resort and I know the expectations. So yes I am a little picky. The room was nice for a couple and a child. Was not impressed with the Wifi. My Ipad was having problems keeping a signal. A lot of space in the room. Walking distance from the hotel to the beach was nice. So we didnt drive the whole 2 days we were there. We are planning on revisiting later on.

Room wise could use a paint touch up and update maybe some pictures on the walls.

Staff was very nice. Impressed with the ladies at the front desk. I know how hard it is when you are very busy. They were great.

Room Tip: Take bathroom items. shampoo, conditioner and lotion.

On a budget? Give the Hi-Seas Mote;a try, it's your typical old Florida style motel. If your use to the Ritz Carelton then maybe this isn't for you, but if you're looking for that traditional Florida style motel then this one has it. Rooms are comfortable and clean and yes it's an older style motel but it is perfectly located with slight views of the gulf and a very nice heated pool. We stayed in room 211 on the second floor and enjoyed the beautiful view from the balcony. Rooms come with a small kitchenette (toaster, micro, fridge, stove, utensild, pots n pans dishes, etc.). Free wi-fi but may have to sit on your balcony to get it due to the concrete block walls-ask the desk for the password.

Room Tip: Ask for the second floor if you don't mind lugging your bags up, the view is better from here...

We stayed here last minute trying to find a room during Spring Break week. Everything else was sold out, and the sign had a "Vacancy", so we stopped in. The room available was a suite with a full kitchen, fold-out couch in the living room and two double beds in the bedroom. The style/decor was definitely dated, and the bathroom wasn't the cleanest, but we couldn't have asked for more space for a family of 5. The location is really good, close to the beach and all of the restaurants. This is not the Ritz, so manage your expectations, but if you need a lot of space at a very reasonable rate, this family-owned motel served its purpose. We did not have time to use the pool, but they also have shuffle-board and outdoor washer/dryer. We stayed at much nicer places on our vacation, and of course, our kids love this one the best because of all of the space.

Great location but very dated and shabby. I threw away better furniture in the trash. Found 2 roaches in bathroom. No wifi that I could find.

Our vacation plans had changed mid trip & we decided to head to the Gulf side of Florida instead. We are 2 couples who travel together as much as possible and are always looking for an adventure. Drove to Clearwater Beach area and began our room search-during spring break-and happened upon this cozy little motel. Front desk staff were wonderful and fun to talk with. Rooms are a bit dated but who goes to Florida to stay in the rooms? Nice little patio areas w/access to grills, right across the street from the beach, plenty of dining choices all around, clean rooms, comfortable beds, nice pool area, plenty of hot water in the shower and best of all-very reasonably priced. We had a wonderful time and would not hesitate to return to or recommend the Hi-Seas.

We pulled in after a 15 hour drive only to find that the air conditioner did not work in the bed room. It was like a hot box. Also when we checked in I asked to confirm that we had a none smoking room. She said that they ask all the guest not to smoke in the rooms. And said if they smell smoke when cleaning that they spray something in the room. Then proceeded to tell us that sometimes the guest smoke in the room because if they smoked outside they would get arrested. My son could not get on the Wifi. When we asked why we were told that you had to step outside to get a signal  because when the building was built back in the 60's they did not anticipate wifi.  This was not what was advertised on the web site.  I told the lady at the front desk that we would like a refund. We were told that we would have to speak to the manager the next day to see if we could get our deposit back. We stopped by the next day only to be told to call the following day because the manger did not come in. We called the following day only to be put off again. At that point I told the person on the desk that I did not feel that we owed anything. She said there was a charge for canceling . I told her we did not cancel, they did not provide us with a functional room. I called my cc company to void the charge. DO NOT BOOK !!!

My wife and I have stayed here every year for the past eight and she was an annual visitor for several years before we met. The place is "old Florida" with pastel colors in the large rooms. Rooms and bathrooms are certainly not new but things are maintained. The best value is an efficiency room with a kitchen---not only do you save on restaurant meals if desired but there is more overall space and you have a separate bedroom and bathroom area. There is plenty of parking and guest spaces are reserved.
The best feature is the location in the heart of Clearwater Beach on Gulf Blvd. right across from the Gulf----you can walk to the beach and no parking fee! The is a large, inviting pool in the middle of the complex. The clientele runs to families and retirees so the atmosphere is usually quiet. It is not the least expensive place on Gulf Blvd. but it is clean and well run and the location is absolutely the best! There are a number of good restaurants within easy walking distance and the Publix grocery store is a mile or so away just off the causeway if you have an efficiency unit and want to cook for yourself.

Room Tip: A second floor room is quieter and one on the Gulf side provides a better view. There is a large con...
