The hotel is in a great location, near the ocean and also within walking distance to restaurants / shops. The rooms are fairly small, but very clean. They have a somewhat awkward layout, with the closets right by the bed and a very small sink area. The walls are VERY thin and I could hear the man in the next room snore, sneeze, cough, etc.

I did like that there were some more affordable restaurants onsite and that the pool food was reasonably priced.

Overall, the hotel was nice, and convenient location.

We stayed here over the holidays and found it to be nice but a little different. We typically stay at the Hilton on Clearwater Beach, but other family members were staying here so we decided to also. The weather was terrible when we stayed, not the hotel's fault! The lobby is nice and we enjoyed the hotel bar, cozy and fun but not loud. The rooms were good but we were there when it was super windy and it was pretty bad to even walk from your room to the elevator, you have to wlak outside. The work out room was nice and good space. The pool area seemed nice but due to the weather we really didn't enjoy it. Not on the beach so the kids didn't like it as much.

Room Tip: If you have a room higher up you do get a nicer view. You have to go outside your room to get to stairs and/or elevator.

I experienced most of what everyone else mentioned on this site...some good and some bad. The bad, we had to change rooms. The desk clerk sold it as a "beautiful harbor view" it was more like 3rd floor view of the top of the conference center, back kitchen area and dumpster. The noise was terrible, the view even worse. We were there over spring break, so it was packed, but they moved us to the same side but a higher floor. It helped, but there was still no option of sitting on the small patio, having a relaxing drink and enjoying the view. The rooms left a little to be desired for the price, but overall, we personally didn't spend too much time in the room, so it worked.

The good...it's great for the kids, we have two 12-year-olds and they loved the pool and the beach. Entertainment for hours for them. We were able to grab 2 chairs in the sun (or shade), relax, read and they could check in with us periodically. We loved being able to sit outside in the morning with our coffee and enjoy the newspapers they provided. I will mention that a lot of people came down very early morning and plopped their things on the chairs around the pool. It was a little frustrating b/c most chairs were gone by 9am! The pool staff was great, food was good, the open air bar was nice for us adults. Personally, I loved the location. Sand Key is quiet, it's easy to get to Clearwater Beach over the bridge, it's relatively close to restaurants (both directions). It seemed a bit more private, which I liked.

We would visit again, but would pay a bit more for a higher floor with a real view!

This was our third time staying at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort. Again the service was wonderful, rooms clean, beach not crowded and free parking. Friends of our stayed at the Hilton, a very nice hotel too but the beach was very crowded not only with hotel guests and there is a parking fee per night. We are looking forward to a fourth stay in the very near future!

Just returned from girl trip. 4 Middle Age women. We had a great time! The ocean and beach are beautiful which is what we went for. You never have to leave the beach. You do have to rent Umbrella/Chairs for $25 day (for 2 people), but that is no different than other hotels I have stayed at that charge a daily Resort Fee. They have the Turtle Express that drives down the beach selling you Mixed drinks, Beer, sandwhiches, salads, Candy, snacks etc.. (It is a very long walk to the restrooms by pool because the beach is very Wide)
The only meal we ate in the hotel was breakfast which was good. We went out every night for dinner. ("Frenchy's on the Beach" and "Guppy's" and "Johns Pass" were good)
Loved the location-quiet and away from younger party crowd in Clearwater and all the traffic.
The Pool is very small. They really need to redo it. It is full of Kids so not a relaxing place to be... but we spent all our time at the beach so didnt care. I could never understand why people pay Big Bucks to get Ocean front hotel and then spend their time at the pool and not the beach?.
Rooms are average and the bathroom is very small! There is a big gap under door in room so you have to stuff towels in the crack to block out Noise and Light from hallway just so you can sleep.
They really should have a refrigerator in every room (It is $5 day to rent)
We had a GREAT time and would return to this Hotel. Worth the $200 night deal we found on line for Easter week.

Room Tip: Don't accept room by elevators. Too noisy!
