My partner and I stayed at this hotel during Spring Break and even though the hotel was average but still good value the location was excellent and the pool area and views were amazing. I would recommend anyone to stay here if you don't want to pay a fortune. There is a great bar over the road on the beach front which also has a nightclub and plays live music.

The hotel was in a great location walking distance to great restaurants! The room was comfortable and clean. The staff was wonderful and very helpful in giving advice to near by attractions. Honeymoon Island was near by and a great recommandation by staff. The price was well worth our stay! Can't wait to visit again!

My wife & I stayed here twice: 15 - 26 Feb & 7-14 Mar. After asking to look at a couple rooms, the front desk manager, Jason, gave us keys to 2 rooms. After seeing the great view, we chose one on the top floor. Although near the elevator, no noise from it permeated the room. The room had a micro-fridge, coffeemaker, desk, table w/ 2 chairs, 26" TV with 70+ chans. After the 1st night, we found that the beds were quite firm. My wife has a back injury, so she brings foam mattress pads on all our trips. Even with the pads, the bed was too firm. When we noted this to the desk clerk the next day, she told us of another room with pillow-top mattresses. Within 2 hours, we had moved to the new room (504), with the soft, comfy beds.

First the good news - Customer service here is great: Jason, the manager, is a consummate professional who is always available to help the guests. The rest of the staff we spoke to (Melanie, John, & Chris) were all very friendly, helpful, & professional. Rosario & her housekeeping staff did a great job keeping our room clean. The free breakfast was quite good: several cereals, apples & oranges, instant oatmeal, muffins & pastries, bagels, toast, juices, coffee, tea, & decaf. Free coffee, etc. is available all day. There is also a water cooler, with water that tastes much better than the local tap water. A PC in the lobby is available to guests. The hotel is just a 5-min walk to the beach. A Subway, McDs, Walgreens (w/ liquor store), & several souvenir shops are within a 10 min walk. A Publix is a short drive, or 20 min walk, away. Because my wife enjoyed the hotel so much, we booked the 2nd stay.

Now the bad news - Since the hotel is located at the corner of Gulfview & Hamden, there was a lot of noise from the street. It is surprising the number of jerks on noisy Harleys who love to rip up & down the block at 2 AM. And since our 2nd stay was during Spring Break, the noise from drunken idiots on the street was also annoying. The back of the hotel is quieter, but those rooms are all 1 bed only. Noisy guests are given 1 warning, then are asked to leave if they continue.

Overall, even with the street noise, we are going to return again next year; just not during Spring Break. I would definitely recommend this hotel: the customer service was fantastic, the view was great, the room was clean, the breakfast was good, & the pool area was nice. We look forward to our visit next winter.

Pros: Room was clean and cozy.
Hotel had a decent continental breakfast.
Walking distance to the beach, downtown, and restaurants.
Views from either side of hotel are great.
All together very affordable.

Cons: No closet in room.
TV was old.
Elevators were filthy.
I would have preferred that breakfast start at 5 or 6 AM instead of 7.

The room was very small, with 2 double beds. The bathroom had only the tub and toilet and the sink was outside the door. There was no space or drawers to put your clothes or unpack. Just a few unstable hangers.
Old furniture, old TV, old beds, old towels, old sheets, this place hasn't been updated in a long time. Carpeting was thin and dirty and had a burned -in iron mark. I don't think the maid ever vacuumed and we stayed there for 9 nights! Door to the outside very old, worn and dirty, this place has seen better times.
On the pro-side: nice location across the street from the water, but you had to walk a few blocks for beach access. Fast food restaurants are close by and if you just wanted to stay at Clearwater Beach the whole time you wouldn't even need a car. Price was excellent for the area at $65 a night (1-2011) Very nice, safe area, kind of loud traffic but beautiful beach walking.
Nice guys working at the front desk, and had a good continental breakfast with coffee, pastries, donuts, muffins, etc. Also had wi-fi in rooms not just lobby. The room we stayed in had a mini-fridge and microwave which was helpful.

Stayed recently and for the money it was a great value. $65 this close to the beach was unbeatable for us. We checked everywhere else and it's was $85 or more! Room was clean, bed was comfortable, it had a mini-fridge and microwave. Pool area was nice overlooking the bay. Staff was nice and gave us good advice for restaurants and beaching. Would stay again for sure!

I travel about 10 times a year and know what to expect. The only advantage of this hotel is the price I paid. The front desk lady was rude - I was waiting for more than one hour before she tried to address my concern. She refused to contact the manager, and when I called the manager, he (after putting me on hold for more than 15 minutes) even did not apologize for the fact that the service that was promised was not delivered (Internet did not work for 2 days). Obviously, no refund at all although I checked out one day earlier to move to a better place. Smell in the rooms, quite poor breakfast, I could clearly hear my neighbors snoring through the walls. You will be better off by staying there at a nice private motel with perfect service for the same price - there are plenty of them around the corner.
