Description: Waterfront dining at its finest! Family-owned & operated for more than 112 years, Columbia has earned acclaim for its old-world charm & award-winning Spanish/Cuban cuisine & wine list. Join us for century-old family recipes like Paella "a la Valenciana," Filet Mignon "Columbia," & fresh seafood specialties. Sample a fine Spanish wine like Torres, Montecillo or Campillo. Don't miss our world-famous Original 1905(R) Salad, named "One of America's Top 10 Best Salads" by USA Today -- The only restaurant in Florida to be named. Whether you choose a table looking out onto the radiant blue waters of the Intracoastal Waterway from the Mediterranean dining room, or experience the casual atmosphere from our outdoor deck on the water, you can enjoy the cuisine that has consistently been voted Tampa Bay's Favorite. Casual attire is fine, but we don't allow sleeveless shirts on men. We are a sister to the Columbia in Tampa's Ybor City, founded in 1905. Children's menu available. Not sure why this place is so crowded. Told there was a 45 minute wait for a table for two we chose to eat at the bar. We started off with mojitos that were tastless and had barely any rum. Switched to a glass of sangria figuring they couldnt ruin that. Well they did. It was more like a wine spritzer. Why would you put club soda or 7UP in sangria? The bartenders do NOT know how to make a drink. By far the best thing on the menu was the 1905 salad. This is a must have. My friend had a Cuban sandwich and I had pork loin. Non-descript on both counts. For being an old established restaurant, I think the fact that they've expanded has hurt.

Wish we found this restaurant on our first day rather than last so we could go back. Huge menu, great food. Had the shrimp/chorizo appetizer, salad and ropa viejo. Everything was great. Service was good too. We sat on the patio and unfortunately stinky cigar smoker sat next to us.

We went to the Columbia for a special occassion and could not have been more pleased with the overall experience.

Service is exceptional. From the moment you arrive at the entrance the staff meets your every need with a smile. Our waitress was amazing with her knowledge of the menu and offering suggestions. Her service throughout the meal was timely and non-intrusive.

Meal: Everyone at the table had a different entre and all raved about the quality and taste.

We sat on an outside table that provided a great view of the waterway.

We will difinately be back!

Good food once you manage to understand the menu as it is a history based menu witht the family favourites and a large influence form Cuba and China which offers great flavours and surprises for the palet. We started with the Sangria de Cava which was made by the table and decent measures of Torres
Brandy and Torres Orange Liqueur added very refreshing to start the evening. We had starters of Gambas “Al Ajillo which were cooked to perfection and Beefsteak tomatoes, tossed
with julienne sweet onions, extra virgin olive oil, vinegar and garlic which had a lovely sweet taste. for mains we orderd Mahi Mahi “Varadero and Shrimp Criollo but we were served the Mahi Mahi “Varadero and Red Grouper but they were quick to get this sorted correctly and bring the Shrimp Criollo, the mains are a little large but the tases melt in ones mouth but we were nable to finish both dishes, so no room for deserts. They serve crusted white bread which I hope they will change as it leaves a mess on the table when you cut it and takes away from the resturant. The service with Shad was very friendly and he had the time to tell us a little more about the resturant and the Clearwater area a nice touch not often found in Florida. A very enjoyable evening.
