“Smoke & Mirrors”

My husband and I are writing this review while our frozen pizza cooks. It's what we're having for dinner after we just gone done trying to have dinner out at Salt n Pepper Bistro! We chose this place based on reviews we read on Trip Advisor and we're not sure what others saw in it!

The location is horrible. We were happy to get out of there before dark. The restaurant itself looks like it should be a $3 breakfast diner. It has zero atmosphere.

The food tastes like it came out of the frozen food aisle and was cooked in the microwave. If you're into that, save yourself some money and go get one. We doubt you'd be able to tell the difference. The food is seriously over-priced. We spent $50 for two entrees and one beer.

We were shocked the owners didn't question our barely touched plates. We would think the chef would have been alerted to the nearly full plates coming back to the kitchen and came to question why.

This place lacks everything we hoped for on a Saturday night out. The worst representation in a fine bistro with cheesy music, poor decor, and terrible food. Wine and beer list is short, strange, and over-priced.

Don't try this one!

What a treat. The owner chef and his lovely wife could not have been more delightful, attentive but not intrusive, polite without haughtiness, just.....forgive me, down-home wonderful folks. Each dish was carefully crafted and beautifully presented. My eldest son was a wee bit tricky in terms of what he would eat, and the chef custom made something similar to Fettuccine Alfredo (not on the menu) but used brie and other fantastic ingredients. My (8 year old) son said, "my stomach is in shock because it didn't know food could taste this good". My younger (6) son said, "this is the best French bread I've ever had" as he enjoyed a beautifully presented appetizer of various cold cuts of salami and other meats. I haven't had a crepe in 20+ years, and am SO glad I did. Once again the chef made a few changes for my diet and the dish was outstanding. The pricing is correct in that it's Clearwater, but could easily be $35 per entree in a major metro area. Generous portions made the pricing a great value for the quality delivered. It's been quite awhile since I've seen real artistry and care go into each and every dish. What a pleasure.

“A True Bistro”

Adorable little place with an incredible menu. Don't let the local or lack of charm on the outside fool you. This place is full of charm, from the native French speaking owners, to the decor and table locations. The menu is full of interesting items all of which are delicious. It's a little on the expensive side for lunch and even more so for dinner. This is a treat place - one you want to go back to over and over again.

Small restaurant in a tucked away location. Fresh, made from scratch, wonderful food. Excellent service! Spent 2 weeks travelling in Toronto, Clearwater and Orlando. This was one of the best meals! The special of the day was flat iron steak and fresh pasta with a gorgonzola cream sauce. Very flavourful, yet delicate.
