Owner description: Ruth Eckerd Hall's near perfect acoustics have received rave reviews from artists, technicians and audience members since opening in 1983. Combined with state of the art equipment, comfortable amenities and world class entertainment, it's no wonder that it has been recognized as one of Tampa Bay's best concert halls numerous times as well as a finalist for Pollstar's Theater of the Year twice. In 2003, the Hall's audience chamber received a complete refurbishment, its 2,180 seats were reconfigured to accommodate more patrons with disabilities, and lobby and restrooms were expanded.Ruth Eckerd Hall has continental-style seating. Almost every patron prizes a center seat and continental-style provides the maximum possible. There are no support columns, no obstructed views. Seating is sloped and staggered. For safety and comfort, the aisle space is wider than traditional layouts; entry and exit can be made while patrons remain seated. There are 14 sets of double doors leading out from the audience chamber. With this configuration, a full house can be cleared in a matter of minutes.Among the original community leaders who conceptualized building a performing arts center this side of Tampa Bay, was Jack Eckerd. During construction, Mr. Eckerd designated a significant contribution as a birthday gift to his beloved wife, Ruth, making the dream a reality. The Hall proudly bears her name.

This is one of my favorite venues for watching plays, concerts, etc. Don't hesitate to come here if you like the musician or play that is currently offered.

A great variety of plays, theater and bands. Tickets are costly but well worth the price. All the seats are good ones. Comfortable atmosphere. Definately worth going to see a show.

Acoustics here make this a perfect place for concerts. Nice facility with comfortable seats, clean upscale restrooms. Unless you are a member
you will not get front row seats. First several rows are kept for their
contributors. I bought tickets for Tom Jones concert on first day of sale
and sat 10 rows back. Prices for tickets higher than other venues for
same artists.

Took my daughter here to see a concert that started at 7pm. Doors didnt open till 6pm had to stand outside in the extreme heat. They only had 1 snack bar and the line was ridiculous. The prices were outrageous, $2.00 for a bag of the .25 cent chips u get at Walmart. Bought the chicken wrap dinners- gross. The tortillas were soggy and the lettuce was very smushy. $6.00 for 1 wrap and sum cookies and i bought 3. I should have got my money back but didnt want to stand in the longgggg line. The seatin was very good, it seats about 2,000 and sumthing so even if u sat at very top u still could see.
If i do go back def. will not be going to the snack bar.

Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, FL. is a small venue- only seats 2100. It opened in 1983 and with its perfect acoustics it attracts a wide and diverse range of performers. There is not a "bad" seat in the hall and the sound system is state of the art. The ambience is upscale but comfortable. The perfect place to see your favorite performers.
Also the location of the venue is easily accessible and near many fine but not overly expensive hotels. Another huge plus- parking for performances is free.
