“Not a good lunch.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2014 via mobile

We had eaten dinner at the Shor a year ago and it was very good. Our experience with lunch yesterday was not good. My husband
and I split a salad (11.50) and chicken quesadilla (13.00). We were told the salad was a good size and could be split. It was a small salad, which also had greens that had gone bad. The quesadilla had one small piece of chicken on each half. My brother had a piece of fish and salad which was ok. Ice tea was $4.00. We had dessert and 2 coffee. Total was $71.00 which was not worth that.
At the end service was awful because she had a big party outside. We
got the bill finally which was for one amount, which my husband signed. She came back with another bill that was for a different amount. Dessert and coffee had not been added to first bill she brought out, but never even said anything or said it was incorrect. We ate at some other
resturants in Clearwater Beach that were much better and less

“Simply a great experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 6, 2014

While staying at the Hyatt, my wife and I decided to try Shor for dinner and we were simply amazed. We were getting a bit bored of the local dive grills and fast food, and this place was the antidote for sure. We've made a few family trips to the Clearwater area, Orlando, and Bradenton Beach, and this was our best meal so far in Florida. What was also great was how kid-friendly they were with a special buffet with some of the usual kid staples (yes they can have a hot dog, or macaroni) but also some healthy sides and mains that are all freshly made if you're looking for something different from the usual kids meal salty, fatty options. We liked the meal so much that we came back again in our 1 week stay rather than wasting a meal exploring some other restaurant. As with everything about our stay at the Hyatt, the wait staff deserve special mention for their exceptional and friendly service. I also want to add that I had breakfast at Shor a couple of times, and while it wasn't a cheap option, they still had the kid's breakfast buffet, and a killer key lime waffle.

This is a fantastic restaurant. The servers knowledgable and helpful. Everything on the menu is wonderfully prepared. Do not miss having the Black Grouper.

“Good food for a hotel restaurant, nice atmosphere.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2014

The evening didn't start out very well as we were seated by the "fill in hostess" who attempted to put us in the middle of a busy room even though my husband had asked for a nice table by the window when making the reservation. Our 2nd option was one table over in the same noisey room against the wall. Luckily my husband spotted an open table by the window where the meals were prepared & had to ask twice before the hostess reluctantly gave it to us.
A small loaf of bread was served warm with two slices of butter & a grain mustard on the side. (Nothing very special) We had an order of the mussels with the lime & red curry broth and a caesar salad. The mussels sat at the prep station for a few minutes waiting for the salad, so they were not really hot when served. (Also did not receive a bowl to put the empty shells in) There was a good portion, about a dozen & they had a nice flavor with just a hint of spice. The caesar was tastey, with anchovies and large pieces of cheese. I ordered the lobster ravioli, served with a vermouth cream sauce. There were at least six raviolis, a very light dough, stuffed with a mousse like stuffing with pieces of lobster mixed in. They were very good. My husband ordered the Cioppinno. It was a thin red sauce(stew), with the same hint of spice I had in the mussels, loaded with calamari, clams, mussels, prawns & scallops.(He received a bowl for the shells!) Again the seafood dish sat at the prep table for a few minutes while the ravioli was being prepared. Once served, it was delicious.
The service was okay. Our waitress made a point to visit with us at one point, but on the other hand we had to wait for drink refills. She seemed quite busy srving in another room.
The atmosphere is very modern, and the noise echos off the walls. So don't exspect a quiet dinner. We did enjoy watching the meals being prepared in the one dining area. The bar area is huge and had a nice casual feel to it. We will return when the weather is warmer & hope to sit outside on the patio/balcony to view the gulf & watch the sunset. Great place to bring guests.

Name doesn't do it justice, sounds cheap but the food is excellent. We had an Mazing meal here. The Rockefeller oysters were amazing, also the lobster ravioli. I would go back and probably choose the same on the menu.
