“Best service on the beach!”
Reviewed July 19, 2011

We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Suites Clearwater Beach, FL twice a year or more for the last 5 years. Jimmy's Fish House and Iguana Bar is the restaurant and bar and Tiki Bar inside this hotel. It is located right on the water. Great views of sunsets and just beautiful during the day. Local musicians play during most days and evenings on the deck. Very relaxing, not loud and obnoxious like other places. This restaurant is very family friendly and has meals for all ages and all price ranges. We eat at least lunch here everyday during our stays and have yet to be served a bad meal. We eat dinner or room service at least 2-3 times during our 9 days stints and also have always had excellent meals. The service is quick and always the friendliest on the entire strip!
Bartenders remember from day to day or hour to hour what you are drinking and always have a smile or a handshake for you and we notice how many returning guest the hotel and this restaurant have and they are always remembered!
The drinks are very reasonable and you always get your moneys worth. They always have several special beach type drinks going on during different times of the year.
Overall service, food and atmosphere is a 10.
The management of Jimmy's always makes sure everything is just right and with a smile on their faces. You can not ask for much more if you are just looking for a good drink and or good food make sure this is on your list of places to visit. You will remember Josh, Megan, Megan, Tiki Tim, Bryan and Amy and they will not forget you or let you down.
The breakfast staff is also very friendly and the food good. Buffett or they will just about make whatever you want for breakfast. Ask for Trish, she always greets you with a smile and great service.

“Wonderful !!”
Reviewed June 17, 2011

Wonderful environment !!! Great place for yummy frozen tropical drinks. A bit over priced but still a great place to hang out. At times the birds can be pests , but the beautiful scenery make up for it. Try the grouper nuggets !!! They're great !!!

“We liked it”
Reviewed May 15, 2011

We dined here both nights when we stayed at the Holiday Inn Clearwater. We rarely eat at hotel restaurants, but as this overlooked the sea we gave it a go. Both nights were very busy and we had to wait approx 45 mins for a table outside, but well worth the wait. 20 mins for an inside table.

Food was good both nights. We had lobster the first night and prime rib the second. Had wine with the meal both nights and the bill was very reasonable. Not stunning food, but very nice for a hotel chain.

Good atmosphere on the decking, but the inside area and the bar was packed and noisy. We would never have eaten in there. As the sun set, they lit the gas lanterns and a due played Beach Boys/Doobies/Eagles type of stuff.

No beach by the decking, but lots of boats passing by for atmosphere and a cool sea breeze.

Overall a very pleasant dining experience.

“Not Thrilled”
Reviewed May 11, 2011

Since this restaurant was at the hotel we were staying at, The Holiday Inn and Suites Clearwater, it was convenient. We visited the first night we arrived and weren't really thrilled with our waiter. He was kind of smug and very fake and drove me nuts the whole dinner. My food was pretty good, coconut crusted shrimp and sweet potato fries, but I was really kind of disappointed with the choices on the menu; nothing really new or different.
We gave the restaurant one more try and were pretty late when we arrived so we quickly ordered burgers so to get our order in so we could eat. I think they had it a little confused for themselves on which waiter was waiting on our table but either way, they both beat out the guy from the first night. The burgers were just okay and kind of flavorless.
There seem to be a lot of locals who like this restaurant, more than likely for the views and being directly on the inlet and each night there is live music mostly done with a person playing guitar to a CD and singing along. Other than that, I don't really think they visited for the food because I had a whole lot better food at other restaurants close by.
I may be wrong here but I wanted to mention that on the first night it seemed like the owner who was sitting at a table in the middle of the restaurant taking money from the servers right in front of us. The guy had a terrible attitude and should have been out of sight doing this. Not only did it seem like he was taking the tips but told one guy to keep a $20 and then was pocketing all the other cash. This was kind of an odd thing to be watching and should have been done in the restaurant office.

“Great view, poor service.”
Reviewed April 24, 2011

The restaurant has one of the best sunset views at Clearwater beach. We have been coming to this area for ten years. Unfortunately the current management needs some help.

We waited 3 hours for dinner and the manager said we were busy, what did I expect. What I expect is an honest estimate of seating time or a sincere apology. Neither was offered. In won't be going back anytime soon.
