Park is overall ok but it's not much room to place your chairs from chairs that they renting. Staff in charge of rental is unpleasant and they are miserable you can see with their actions with public no smile or thank you just unbelievable .

We walked to this park from Clearwater Beach one morning on a recent vacation. It was pretty deserted when were there which made for a peaceful beach walk! The water was calm and turquoise...just beautiful. Lots of beautiful birds around. We found many beautiful shells on this beach. We did not swim in the water here...we saw a stingray in the water and a woman walking by who lived in the area told us she had seen a lot in the water lately. Overall, if we visit Clearwater again this will definitely be on our list to visit...for a peaceful walk and beautiful shells!

Sand Key is a beautiful public beach and is less crowded than nearby Clearwater. From the beach, you can see boats coming into the gulf from the Harbor. The park is conveniently located just across the Sand Key bridge when traveling in from Clearwater. You do have to drive a mile or less off the main road to get to the parking/beach area. They have swings and benches along the drive into the park where people can sit and observe. The sand is more of a brown sand compared to the white sand found on Clearwater. You do pay to park. If your looking for a public beach in the area that's less crowded than Clearwater, consider Sand Key.

I loved that this park and beach were not busy at all. It was very windy the day we were there so the kids didn't swim due to the surf being a little too much. They did find tons of shells, though!

Not as crowded but farther away, not much in store for drinks to buy, worth checking out & parking only $5
