My partner and I were in the Clearwater area for a long weekend and stayed at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort. This restaurant is located in the Shoppes of Sandy Key, which are located pretty much right across the street from where we stayed (for sure within walking distance if staying in Sand Key). So between the location and reviews on this site, we had to check it out.
The diner is in a small unassuming strip mall, but don’t let that stop you from going. The service was good and the interior of the place was small, but charming. It was our most favorite
breakfast during our trip! We both got some type of weekend special that is not on their regular menu, and unfortunately I waited too long to post this review to remember exactly what we had. All I remember is it was some type of eggs (with something in them), wonderful cheesy hash brown casserole, biscuits and gravy, and ???. It was all delicious and very inexpensive!
Note: There is a small amount of outdoor seating on a deck that overlooks the bay (not the ocean). It was too crowded when we were there to wait for one – but that would have been even nicer! Speaking of crowds, the place always seemed crowded and busy each day we seen the place from our hotel. So expect to wait a little bit, but trust me it is worth it!
If back in the area, we will for sure be returning to Maggie Mae’s! YUM!!!
