This is a two location attraction the Aquarium is one location and the movie production site is another located in the downtown area . They run trolleys and boats to take you to each location depending on where you start from . This is provided at no charge . The boat ride is the best for the views of the local wildlife . The Aquarium is under renovation and is so badly needed for Winter the Dolphin from the movie Dolphin Tale . At this time they need visitors and donations so please help if you can with one of these options . The life saving rescues of all the resident mammals and animals at the Aquarium are the stories you will hear from the big hearted employees and volunteers at this facility .This is a great place for families .

We went to Clearwater specifically to see Winter. This was in the old center.
We ended up going to the aquarium 3 times during our stay. Each time was fun.
The staff/volunteers were great. They all were patient with the endless questions visitors have and we learned a lot about what CMA was all about. Very interesting!
This is a rehab center, the animals/marine life that live there permanent do so because they would not survive in the wild.
We did a dolphin encounter. It was great. And we toured the facility, behind the scenes. Very interesting. Saw the turtles, etc.. in rehab and learned more of how CMA helps them to heal and be returned to the wild, if possible.
Our first visit was the longest, taking in everything. But I think a few hours, at least 2-3..or more, is needed.
I would definitely visit again.

This was our first time visiting CMA. We loved the movie Dolphin Tale and were really excited to some see Winter dolphin. We loved seeing her and found the trainers and volunteers to be very knowledgeable. What it lacks in size (we are used to a larger aquarium in Chicago), it totally makes up for in the overall experience.

This was our 2nd time to CMA. We purchased our tickets online and schedule our time for arrival. We tend to spend hours here so we like to come early. I love how the volunteers are so knowledgeable and friendly as well as the staff. On our 1st visit we did a behind the scenes tour and a Sea Life Safari Tour. We loved both the Sea Life tour was our favorite. You take a boat out into the water for a very neat experience. We are all animal lovers and big into marine life so we try to soak it all up. We were very sad to learn of Panama's passing. I really enjoyed her...she would float on her raft and keep the girls in check. We did like the second location...it was raining so we just drove but you can take a trolley or boat.

Stopped in on a rainy day to check it out. It's interesting but rehab center would be a better name than aquarium. If your child is in to the dolphin tale movie this would be a good activity for them.
