We took our 3 year old grandson here because we thought it would be enough for a child his age - but there was hardly anything there to see - 20 minutes and we were done. Overpriced for what they have. If it was by donation, and it was promoted as a charity, I think it would be a fairer approach. Next time we will take him in to the Tampa Aquarium - which is a real aquarium, not an animal rescue hospital. I think it needs to be re-branded as such so people know what to expect.

Our daughter wanted to see Winter the dolphin. This was our first stop during our FL vacation and we spent the entire day here. They do presentations on the various animals there and it was fun and educational. We did pay extra for the behind the scenes tour and it didn't feel like it was very much "behind the scenes." We didn't learn much from it or experience much that we couldn't otherwise have done on our own at the aquarium, but we consider the additional money we paid to be a donation to the center and we support their mission. If you're a big movie buff, you will enjoy seeing the various movie props in the Dolphin Tale building. They have it all displayed very nicely. Our daughter seemed to enjoy finding out what about the movie was true and what was fiction.

We saw dolfin tail and the kids just HAD to see winter. The aquarium is just how I had it pictured in the movie. A little run down but very well organized. Staff are incredibly knowledgeable and the kids loved learning about the animals and how they had been rescued. My only complaint was I felt as though I was being solicited for donations at every turn. I appreciate the aquarium relies on donations, however, it was a bit of a turn off for me. Overall, if you love winter...this is the place to be. He was the star of the show.

If your main objective is to see animals for entertainment, go to SeaWorld. If you care about animals, and want to contribute to a place that is committed to rescuing, reabilitating and releasing our precious sea relatives, than support this place with a visit and in any other way you can. You'll be more than entertained, you'll get a good dose of inspiration and enlightenment. I saw more staff with "volunteer" badges on than paid employees while we were there. If there are reviews that complain about this place not being up to their standards or being too expensive, maybe they should volunteer for a week or two to see how much goes into running this and helping these animals who are largely there because of human misconduct and carelessness. Thank you CMA for your good work.

I have been to other marine aquariums, including the one that used to be called Marineland on the east coast, where they rehab dolphins now. This one was not up to par with others. although we did see the dolphin Winter who starred in the movie Dolphin Tales.
