My wife and I, our daughter, and our in-laws Stayed here this summer while touring Florida.

We arrived in Clearwater and it was the first hotel we stopped at, having not booked ahead.

WHAT A GEM OF A HOTEL !!!!!!!!!!!

Right on the beautiful beach, friendly staff, clean rooms, kids club, nice dining area..........We loved it!!!!! Our only regret was we had not stayed longer. We would highly recommend to all.

This was our first stay and we loved it. The staff, for the most part, were
friendly and helpful...although a few were not so friendly.

The rooms were very clean and well-appointed with coffeemaker, refrigerator (very important when travelling with a toddler!!), microwave, hairdryer, iron & ironing board. Plenty of towels were provided. There also were plenty of pillows and the pullout sofa bed was comfortable. The mattress was (in my opinion) very hard but the linens were fresh and cozy. The view was more interesting than a direct Gulf view because of the bridge and Sand Key state (?) park on the other side of the intercoastal waterway. The balcony was private and spacious. My son loved it (he's 2) and I felt comfortable letting him out there to explore.

The pool was almost uncomfortably warm, but clean. There's a great big wooden deck to get a tan, and a nice play area for young kids. The beach was tiny and my son stepped on a fish bone trying to navigate the rocky area. Red tide was occurring but there was no noticeable odor, thankfully.

Lenora's restaurant is very nice. We had a fabulous breakfast server (we were the first customers at 7am sharp on Sunday morning) and the ancakes are DELICIOUS!! Lunch later on was busy and the servers were a little rushed when we asked about getting an order to go.

Towels ran out Sunday and they were giving out bath towels to pool users, but they did so in a friendly and apologetic manner. The indoor bartender was great (can't remember her name--she had a heavy European accent).

The elevators were *maddeningly* slow. We tried to take the stairs from our room to the lobby twice. One set of stairs leads you to a dumpster area, and the other leads you to the parking lot on the side of the hotel. There should be an option to take a stairway down at least to the front of the building.

All in all, it was wonderful and we are sorry that our first visit will be our
last. This would be a wonderful spot to take your family year after year.

We travelled down from Orlando for a 2 night stay and can honestly say we were delighted with the hotel. The beach is small but this only adds to the charm of the hotel - no crowds and very tranquil. Be careful when entering the water though as there are quite a few rocks out there - (best to wear something on your feet). The barmaid in the hotel was very witty - a real character. We had a fantastic view from our 5th floor room which was very spacious and clean - a fridge and microwave as standard too. We will be back next year for few days and would not think of staying anywhere else.

We reserved two nights, unsure of what we would find, then extended another two nights. This hotel was wonderful -- cannot find a negative comment to add. Our room was the cleanest we've ever experienced, brightly decorated, gorgeous views, and exceptional housekeeping. The beach is small, but clean and offers all you need in a beach without the crowds. Pool is also clean -- we observed an attendant each morning. The staff was polite and happy to help with any question. You can order the world's greatest Rum Runner poolside from a very friendly bartender (we've since forgotten her name!). We ate breakfast at a different place each morning, but found Lenora's the best of all, and even had the chance to meet George the heron up close and personal (see photos!). We highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the Clearwater area; we will be back.

We just returned home after a wonderful 2 weeks at the Best Western Sea Wake, Clearwater Beach. The hotel is in a brilliant location right on its own small beach. There is a superb Italian restaurant opposite called The Gondolier which is open all day for breakfast thru to midnight and serves HUGH portions. The Strip which runs right outside the hotel has many restaurants, bars etc and goes right past clearwater beach ( a short 15 min walk from the hotel) The beach is excellent and clean with ample parking if you need it.
The hotel has five floors and has 2 lifts which work ok despite what other reviews say! The restaurant called Lenora's is open for breakfast and lunch and has a brill waiter called Robert - who will tell you anything you need to know about George the hotels friendly heron who will eat off your plate if he gets the chance! The staff are very charming and will help you all they can. The rooms are clean and spacious and the maids come in every day and do a superb job.
Overall we had an excellent time and could not have asked for a better hotel, we heard the rumours as well about it closing - its a great shame.
Well done to all the staff and thanx for a great holiday !

Just got back from a really EXCELLENT stay at the the Best Western Sea Wake, Clearwater beach. Having read reviews to help me make my desision I felt I should return the favour.
The hotel is in a great location with shops and restuarants right outside ,it also has a great restuarant and bar area of its own.
The pool area is excellent with a decked area over looking a small private beach and a small childrens play area which is shaded partly by trees, the pool itself is average but more than does the job and theres always the beautiful gulf ocean to take a dip.
The staff are all friendly and helpful and the rooms are kept well clean by housekeeping and are in excellent condition.
This hotel really is a must weather you are a family or a couple looking for place to take in the sun and the beauty of Clearwater.
Don't miss out on this experience rumour has it ,its going to be torn down to make way for more condos its such a shame.

Well ...I think some of the reviews need to get a grip! This is our second stay at this hotel. Yes the beach is small - Yes the pool is not huge but as this hotel is not too busy (even at peak times) we have never had to worry about getting a free umbrella or a lounger - use the pool (it is very often empty) or use the beach (very under used). This resort is what you make of it - it is relaxed - an excellent base from which to walk (why use the car it is only up the street!) to the larger Clearwater beaches or Resturaunts. We never took the car out of the carpark unless we wanted to venture to the larger stores or Busch Gardens. The Kids Club is excellent - the staff are wonderful giving 100% care to your children. The base is within sight of your sun lounger and they can dip in and out of the club as necessary. They start on a weekday at 9.00am and finished at 4.00pm with the only additional cost being for a meal and a drink ($2.00). Exceptional value. On one day of our stay they even took our children out to play crazy golf on a local site - we did not have to pay it was all free!

The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The staff are happy to help. We were initally very disappointed with the checkin times (we got there a little too early). When i passed the next day and saw the way they cleaned the rooms (exceptionally high quality) I had not problem with it. As far as all the comments with the lifts - whats going on there? You are on holiday? There is no deadline - they are no slower or faster than any other comparable hotel.

We understand that this hotel is up for sale so it may be our last visit - we will be very sorry not to stay there again. The children (6 & 10 yrs) and ourselves will find it hard to find a comparable hotel.
