I stayed here for a long weekend back in Sept 2011. I will admit that before I was set to stay there, I read all the reviews and was nervous that this was going to be a horrible hotel.. I was wrong.. When my boyfriend and I pulled up to the hotel my first though was "ok.. it looks nice from the outside" and when we went into the lobby we were greeted by ANNE... she was incredible! She got us a beautiful room up on the 5th floor - room 517 to be exact. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND, THIS IS AN OLDER HOTEL THAT WAS BEING REFURBISHED. Our room was very beautiful. Could it have been better? Sure.. maybe just a tad in the bathroom with a brighter light and a better flushing toilet. Loved the bed.. it was so comfy.. I had some great sleep! Other than that, our room was perfect for our trip. The view was outstanding, we had a balcony over looking the pool and we encountered several nice people at the hotel. The pool was like being in bathwater - it was that nice! We ate at the bar a couple of times - just apps.. the best places for dinner - Gondoliers or Shepards. We lost power twice, but that didn't stop us from having a great time. As for the towels? no problem what so ever. Downside? we had a sticking door.. and the refurbishment was going on down on either the 3rd or 4th floor.. Upside? great memories, BEAUTIFUL sunsets and fun place to be. If Mgmt is reading this - pls make sure you REWARD your great team members - ANNE (front desk), HECTOR (cabana) and GREG (bartender) they are wonderful people who like to make your guests feel special!

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room facing the Gulf / over looking the pool - well worth the xtra $$$$.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Myself and my colleagues do read every review and you may be assured that we have passed on your appreciation to the team members you have mentioned directly. The Enchantment mattress has really been a hit with our guests. Fourteen inches of memory foam makes for the most comfortable night's sleep I have ever had!

Stayed here on a business trip in November 2011. My room was on the top (6th) floor with a nice street side view of the town. The room was completely remodeled and was very nice. The walls are a tan color with a darker mocca color accent wall, not your typical "motel white" paint. Wood laminate floors gave the room a nice clean feel too. The bed was very comfortable and I slept great. The hotel has a private beach with very good service staff to attend your needs while lying in the sun. They are changing to a Westin hotel this month and I would stay again.

Thank you for your kind comments. The design of our rooms is intended to reflect our location on our private beach and the wood laminate floors are certainly preferable to carpet in our beautiful climate. I fear there was a slight misunderstanding regarding the future brand of the hotel. We were previously the Best Western Sea Wake Beach Resort and as of November 22, 2011, we became the Wyndham Garden Clearwater Beach. We really hope that we will continue to see all of our old friends and meet a lot of new ones who enjoy the special services and amenities offered by the Wyndham brand.

Thisc hotel is still one of the best on the strip.(Since they tore down the Sun Spree) Wonderful views. All of the talk of having to rent chairs for $25? All of the places on the beach in clearwater charge for chairs. I found that Sea Wake charged $5.00 less than the two hotels next door. Food is mediocre but Gondolier has had consistenly good, inexpensive food right across the street. Good for a quiet relaxing trip.

Thank you for your review from which I was delighted to learn that you enjoyed your recent stay with us. We do indeed charge for the "cabana" set ups on our private beach. The price includes two deluxe loungers with 4" mattresses, a table and giant umbrella. As you have mentioned, this is very competitive when compared to similar hotels in our neighborhood. Your comments with regards to the food are noted and this is one area we are focusing on as we become the Wyndham Garden Clearwater Beach.

Thank you for taking the time to right a review and for being so kind about our hotel. The multi-million dollar refurbishment has proved challenging at times over the past eighteen months, but when we see the smiling faces of guests such as yourselves, it makes it all worthwhile. i hope that we will get the chance to welcome you back to Clearwater Beach again in the not too distant future.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and I was truly disappointed to read that you feel the property has lost its charm. As you know, we benefit from a beautiful location and our intention with the refurbishment was to have the quality of services and amenities match the location. It is a fact that we, along with virtually all other beachfront properties locally, do charge for the use of beach furniture. The price includes two deluxe loungers with 4" mattresses, a table and giant umbrella. We have operated a beach towel exchange system for over four years now. This reduces the number of lost towels and ensures that we always have plenty for all of our guests.

Car park full. The best rooms given to college kids on a weekend break although booked well in advance. Stayed here before and enjoyed our stay. Would not return.
Cancelled our reservation and left for the Marriot on Sand Key after waiting 15 minutes for a lift.
Pay a bit more and stay elsewhere.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and I am very sorry to learn that you were so unhappy with the service offered during your stay with us. When the hotel is fully booked the parking lot can be full, but our front desk staff will always ensure that every guest has a place to park their vehicle. Due to restrictions of space we can only assign parking for one vehicle per room. At certain times of the year college students visit all of the Florida beaches and we are no different in this regard. Please be assured that we do not allocate rooms on the basis of who we believe a guest to be. There are a number of different room types offered on our website and rooms are allocated based upon the room type booked and availability at time of arrival. Based on your comments about parking, it sounds as if the hotel was fully booked during your stay and therefore we would only have been able to allocate the specific room type booked. I am truly sorry for your disappointment, but do hope that you may consider visiting us again on any future trips to Clearwater Beach.

I had a great time at the Best Western...We got the hotel for $150 and for that price on the beautiful water with its own beach! I must say I agree with the other reviews where its a bit absurd you have to pay $25 for a lounge chair, but we were fine with our towels. It has a construction spot next to it, which was kind of an eye sore, but we used it to our advantage to have more beach to ourselves. The room was very big and spacious. We ate at the restaurant two nights in a row. The food was good and there was a very pretty deck to sit on. The only complaint I have was that the A/C kept acting up and would get very loud where it would wake me up. It was in a good location and the view could not have been better! I would definitely stay again!
