Besides trusting fellow Trip Advisor reviewers, whenever we travel, we like to ask locals what their recommendations are. This time we asked the front desk worker at our hotel. I asked him for a local place that wasn't just a restaurant chain. His exact response: "It sounds like you want to have a good time with good food that's moderately priced."
How could you pass up a place that's described like that?

Quickly we scanned over the menu online and decided his description was fitting, so we tried Rumba's.

It was a Sunday night, so there wasn't a wait, even for outdoor seating on a gorgeous evening.

My wife and I decided to split an appetizer and an entree.
We began with the Jerk Chicken Wings. There was a choice of Cranberry jerk or Mango BBQ sauce, and our server suggested we have both on the side instead of having to choose. Glad she suggested that as both sauces were good...even better mixed together. The wings were tender and mouth-watering. Just delicious!

Then, we chose the Coconut encrusted Mahi Mahi. It was cooked perfectly. Moist and delicious.

Dinner entrees were moderately priced. Lunches, sandwiches, and early bird specials were even better priced.
Though we don't drink alcohol, I did notice a 2-for-1 promotion on some of their drinks.

There was also live music that added to the atmosphere.

We enjoyed the entire experience.
"Good times, good food, moderately priced" ...pretty accurate description.

Yes, the reviews drove me here and I was not disappointed. We went on a Tuesday night at 7PM and were luckily seated outside right away, despite a full restaurant. Our meals included their signature Coconut Rice Bowl with sautéed shrimp and topped with grilled grouper, Filet Mignon Kabob combo with shrimp with two sides and a salad and a Pulled Pork sandwich. Generous portions. Libations included a Mango Mojito and Pirate Punch. Delicious! The atmosphere was open and festive and our wait staff excellent (including UFO Jennifer).Valet parking is available. It's worth the jaunt off Clearwater Beach. We'll be going back.

About the only thing missing is a great view..the food is really good (our family loved the jerk chicken), the combination plates are a hit, the outdoor bar is fun (the drinks are a little light on the alcohol...), and not super expensive. Highly recommend. Eat outside.

This is a popular restaurant in the Clearwater region. We had to wait about twenty minutes to be seated on a Tuesday night, arriving at around 7:30 P.M. The wait was worthwhile, however, since we were treated to some unique Carribean style dishes. The coconut rice bowl was loaded with small shrimp and I added two skewers of mahi-mahi to the dish. This turned out to be more food than I could possibly eat! Rumba also offers 2 for 1 sangria, margaritas, and an island punch all evening long. Although the drinks were not very big, without much alcohol, they were still tasty and certainly worth the very low price. We ordered a side of the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer and that was delicious as well. The service was friendly, prompt, and attentive throughout our meal. The bar scene here is also fun, particularly when it is warm enough to sit in the outside seating. Fun place and would definitely go back!

Best food, service and atmosphere hands down. We have been here in clearwater area for a few days and this beats all. Food was awesome-great flavors, and really great portions! Our server, Jessica was extremely knowledgable about the menu, and directed us to the best food! Not "on the beach" , but doesn't have to be! The whole experience was great, and being a restaurant manager, I know what to look for when dining out! Got to go there!
