Talk about stepping back in time to a land remembered! The village community is worth the trip just from a Florida history perspective but I would be remiss if I didn’t highlight for fellow parents that this is a super clean park with plenty of eating areas for families. Also, the playground was great for our young kids. And there is full baseball diamond as well as full size tennis and basketball courts for your enjoyment. Definitely a pleasant surprise!

Arrived before opening time as we came across it on the way to somewhere else so we parked and just walked around the property. Grounds are beautiful just on a smaller property. Very well preserved and maintained with care. Loved the original wooden pegs in gate and old wooden flag pole! Will come back to see inside the walls.

We only had a short time to check this place out as it closes at 4:00pm and we weren’t planning to go but saw the sign on our way home from Palm Bay. It is free and very interesting. There are multiple buildings to see not just the fort.

We came upon this park by accident. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of fun buildings and history. Was a nice stop to get out of the rain. Would recommend it. And, it was free.

Fort Christmas was built as a supply depot during the Seminole Wars in the 1800s. This is a reconstructed fort surrounded by the homesteads of white farmers and ranchers in the area.
There are six families homes as well as a school house and lunchroom and library. The family houses were decorated with furniture and accessories of the period they were built.
This exhibit is free as is parking. Lots of walking, shade trees, and a picnic table or two.
