“Good location - all in all, just OK”
Reviewed March 3, 2012

Room - A couple things about the room - It smelled smokey. There isn't a light switch by the door (have to walk to the lamp in the corner). No fan in the bathroom made for very steamy showers. Oh! Bring your own shampoo and conditioner (shampoo is only thing supplied and it was stinky.) Our room was on the end on the 6th floor which was probably one of the nicest locations. I wouldn't want to be in the middle somewhere. All rooms are outside entrances. The room was larger than an average hotel room and the sink/countertop outside the bathroom was a lifesaver.

Lobby - The lobby is VERY nice, but the rest of the hotel seems to have been overlooked during any renovations. We needed to use the internet in the lobby and the keyboard didn't work. Had to pay $3 for nothing and the staff wasn't helpful.

Breakfast - Bring some fruit. The continental breakfast is ALL carbs (frozen waffles, bread, muffins, bagels, cereal, 2% milk). Not a lot of choice there, but there are a ton of restaurants around.

Location - The location was awesome! We loved being a little bit outside of the craziness of Orlando, but nothing took more than 20 minutes to get to. Location was perfect. I probably wouldn't stay there again because of the little things, but we literally just needed a place to sleep. So, it was fine.

Pool - the pool was unheated and normally (in Florida) this wouldn't be a problem. But, the water was FREEZING. No hot tub (that little pool you see is a kiddy pool). Also, the Sunset cantina "pool bar" was never open and we were there for a week.

All in all - meh! It was ok, but it was CHEAP and SAFE and we just needed a place to sleep.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments regarding your recent stay at Baymont Inn & Suites Celebration. Our location is a BIG plus when traveling in the Orlando/Kissimmee Area - it doesn't take very long to get to any of the major attractions offered in Central Florida. Perhaps you will be able to visit us again during the summer season when our Cabana Pool Bar is open.

Thank you for taking the time to recognize our Guest Service Agent, Tony. Since joining our hotel staff, Tony has made a very positive impact on the guests who have the opportunity of staying with us. Your comments regarding the houskeeping/maintenance issue has been brought to the attention of that department so that corrective measures can be taken. We are in hopes that ownership will agree with your comment regarding the ice machines and will approve purchase in the very near future. Once again, thank you for taking the time to post your comments and observations regarding your recent stay at Baymont Inn & Suites Celebration.

I was pretty worried about staying here following the reviews more recently. All I can say is these people expect too much for what they have paid and the hotel seems to have been given a raw deal from the reviews. As we were out from 8 or 9am until about 8 or 9pm most days all we wanted was a a clean, safe room to get some rest - and we got it.
Good: Housekeeping was fine - cleaned everyday, no rifling through our stuff. The rooms are a little dated in some respects but in others quite modern; certainly nothing to worry about ! Beds very comfortable too. Breakfast was good selection of pastries, cereal, toast, muffins, coffees and juice - what I would expect from a free breakfast and what you would get B&B in Europe, so being from the UK we were used to this - perhaps American visitors expect something different ? It was always quick & easy to get breakfast and we didn't have of the queuing problems others have mentioned - and we went for breakfast a range of times up to 9am when it was busiest.
Shuttle buses are reliable, fairly frequent and our daughter loved the Pink special one ! Drivers very friendly and helpful. We used them lots going to parks but got taxi's home which ranged from $25 (with tip) from further away like MK, Epcot & Hollywood, to $12 from AK. I am glad I didn't drive as the roads seemed a bit like a free for all so worth knowing if you're not confident to drive the shuttles and taxi combination worked well for us and our 5 year old. Also, with taxi's and shuttles you get straight to the entrance there's no queuing to pak - worth it for us !
Staff - all very friendly and helpful. Check out is 11am but they let us check out later at 1230 at no extra cost. We didn't have time to use the pool so cant comment here.
Location is good - area is safe with lots of eating places (Denny's was our fave) and gift shops right nearby - though we did struggle to cross the 192 ha ha !
The only thing I can imagine being a problem for some people is the road noise on the Sherbeth Rd side; so if you're a light sleeper get a room facing the pool. We slept fine though as we can sleep through anything !
Overall, we had a great stay here. If I was spending more time in the hotel I would expect more luxuries etc - but then I would also expect to pay more for this !
All I can say is as a young family from the UK on our first trip to Disney, I would recommend this place for the reasons given above. I am not a fussy person but I do expect anywhere I stay to be clean & safe at the least and the Baymont met these standards and had a lot of additional good points !

Room Tip: Ask for a pool side room to block out the noise from the busy roads.

We appreciate your taking the time to post your comments and observations about your recent stay at Baymont Inn & Suites Celebration. Other travelers are sure to learn from your "helpful hints". It is a very difficult challenge to meet the expectations of the traveling public - everyone has their own concept as to quality/standards of a hotel based on rate paid - we pride ourselves on offering the product and services that exceed the "value" of the price of the room rate. Once again, thank you for your comments and your insight into reviews posted on various travel websites.

So for starters, this is more motel than hotel, as the room doors are all outside. If you judge this place by the lobby (obviously recently redone with travertine floors, granite counters, etc) you'd think you were staying in a 4 star place. Then, however, you move outside to where the elevators sit and you see the building exteriors are in need of a good pressure washing, paint and general maintenance. That's where our ratings dropped to a 2. Thankfully the room delivers better than the bulk of the motel.

The rooms (no evidence of a suite in our room, despite the name of the place) have been re-done, and include a fridge, coffee maker and microwave, and were clean and have a modern TV, complete with HDMI input in case you're so inclined to watch a movie off your laptop. There is a shortage of electrical outlets though, so be prepared to have to unplug some of their items if you have phones, laptops, etc that require power. Our room did not, however, come with a safe as I saw mentioned in another review, so if you need one, make sure to ask. We did not have issues with our stuff being gone through as I noted in another review.

The contintal breakfast, while pretty much all white flour starches (bagels, cinnamon rolls, donuts, etc) was plentiful, and free.

The downsides?

The maid was inconsistent.
Sometimes our coffee maker supplies would get refilled, other times no. Sometimes, despite our having checked in as 4 guests, we got 3 towels, sometimes 2 and sometimes 4 and sometimes no bathmat. They also need to check the edges around the beds (which are hidden by the comforter, as I found batteries and beer caps that had been there before our arrival.

The water smells of sulphur.
Now, this could just be the city water, but I have stayed nearby before and didn’t notice it at the other hotel. Just be prepared for the bathroom to have a mild sewage smell as you shower.

Parking
There are a decent number of parking spaces up against the building, but those were almost always full, forcing you to park a long distance from the outside elevators in the middle of the building. A 2nd set of elevators at the back (as opposed to just stairs) would do wonders for parents carrying sleepy children worn out from their day at Disney World.

Overall, considering the Hotwire rate we paid (well under half a bill per night) I am very satisfied and would recommend this place and stay here again. The location, if going to the Disney parks, is awesome as you're just a short distance away. However, since I know for sure their phone quote rate is about 3 times what we paid, I would have been irritated had I paid that, as this is basically just a slightly nicer version of a Motel 6.

Room Tip: Make sure to ask, if you want a room with a safe. If you have small children, as for a ground floor...

Thank you for taking the time to post your observations regarding your recent stay at Baymont Inn & Suites Celebration. Your comments regarding the need for "pressure washing" the exterior of the hotel was added to the task list for our engineeering department and is now completed. Housekeeping has been made aware of the inconsistent services provided and we do offer our apologies for this inconvenience. We do hope that should your travels bring you back to our neighborhood, you would allow us the opportunity to serve you again!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Baymont Inn and Suites for one night. I found the lobby to be very nice, and our room to be equally as nice. It was large and clean and wonderful for one night.

The elevators and exterior could stand to be updated, but for a short stay it was great. We wished we had more time to visit Disney and the surrounding area as it was all so close and free shuttles were provided!

First stay here..they accepted the military rate that I was promised. Rooms were clean, and beds were confortable. Breakfast was good, but crowded. Other than that..we were mostly at Disney..You're right behind Animal Kingdom..can't beat the location. We'll certainly stay here again.

Room Tip: Get to breakfast early..

1. Housekeepers pilfered through our luggage. Our bags were moved and zippers left open. Thank Goodness they at least provided a safe which we had locked our valuables in before leaving.

2. Upon arrival, There were stains on the bench seat, countertop and bed skirt. Their were hairs on one of the pillows and the bathroom was beyond gross and smelled like urine with muddy streaks on the floor along with clumps of hair and the toilet seat was covered in debris and hair. They spent so much time snooping that they didn't bother to clean - they didn't even bother to make the beds, they only spread the sheets up towards the pillow on one bed and left some clean towels and a new coffee pack.

3. The air conditioner is so loud it disrupts your sleep, along with the noise from the highway and the other guests outside it's difficult to rest.

4. Breakfast consistst of donuts, toast, cold cereal, coffee and juice. It's free so you can't really complain about this but it's not really very filling so you should probably include breakfast out somewhere in your budget.

5. On the plus side...The location is decent, the beds were pretty comfortable, the lobby is pretty and there are big flat screen tv's in the room.

My dad stayed with me and he is used to sleeping in a semi-truck so his requirements on a hotel are few - clean and safe. This place was neither. It had potential to be nice if staff was polite, housekeeping actually cleaned the rooms and you could trust that they wouldn't search through your luggage. Even with hotwire's low $35 rate, by the time you add taxes and the $5 "resort" fee to the cost it ended up being almost $50/night. For that cost you could get a nicer room somewhere else. Hotwire has lost another customer.

The managment staff of the hotel is very concerned over these comments. Our attempts to reach out to this guest have been unsuccessful. However, the observations have been shared with the Executive Housekeeper so that these issues can be brought to the attention of the housekeeping staff. We appreciate that you do recognize the convenience of the location, the comfort of the beds, and the lobby's appearance. We do apologize for the inconvenience experienced during this stay, and do hope that you will select Baymont Inn & Suites for your future travels throughout the United States.
