“Budget Friendly and Overall Great!!!”
Reviewed June 24, 2011

If you are particular about every detail, go spend thousands of dollars and stay inside the Disney parks. We stayed at this hotel after driving from Pittsburgh to Orlando. The hotel is located very close to the disney parks. They have free shuttles to the parks and we drove some days too because it was so close. Note: No full size baby strollers on the shuttle, only umbrella strollers. Any kind of restaurant is in walking distance from the hotel-McDonalds to seafood. Updated rooms, nice heated pool and warm baby pool. Housekeeping service we had was excellent! Our refrig. broke and was fixed immediately. Breakfast was excellent-cereals, oatmeal, bagels, sweet buns, waffles, muffins, coffee, juice(if you don't like, bring something you lke to breakfast like fruit etc.We brought snacks, lunch meat (to make sandwiches to bring in the parks) drinks in our room. You have waist size refrig/freezer, coffee maker, microwave, sink. Only cons-$5.00/resort fee per day that they don't disclose until you sign in and salespeople at the other desk there trying to sell you time shares? Overall great though and we will come back to plan another Orlando trip maybe to swim with the dolphins this time. Oh, free wifi in your room, and free computer(downstairs by office) and printer use. Lobby is beautiful. Our rooms, linens were clean also. Remember it's about the memories you make with your family.

Honestly, after reading the reviews on the hotels condition we were a little worried. Upon arrival on our 1st of 6 nights we were surprised to find an exceptional lobby and clean updated guest rooms. We found the room to be very tidy, no signs of bugs or dirt. We loved the pool bar!

The only 2 cons...the breakfast. It was ALL carbs. We were very sick of it by the last day. Also, the ice machines were not always working at top speed.

For the price of $25 per night, I would recommend this hotel 100% and will return in the future.

I booked this hotel for one night before we left for our return journey after a week in fort myers. Was greeted by one of the best members of staff, LUIS, he is a credit to this hotel and deserves a payrise! The rooms were clean and tidy, could do with a bit of a paint in places but I thought this place was a really nice hotel. Great vanity area, great kitchenette area and a fabulous television!!

A really comfy bed and we had a great night sleep.

Breakfast was nice with plenty of space to eat, cereal toast, juice, tea and coffee, all nice quality.

Cons: In a not so pretty area, (we were actually a little worried about how safe it would be to walk around outside) rooms are outdated for the most part (bathroom was very old), 1st room was missing wash cloths and hand towels, pillow cases had marks on them and the bed just didn't feel fresh and clean, and there was white hair on the sink counter and in the bathroom. (gross!!) We were put on the 4th floor originally but changed rooms because it was WAY too noisy. People at the pool were so loud, kids were running around on our floor at 1am, people were playing "Marco Polo" and that first night was just horrible. We wanted to change hotels after that first night. We went downstairs to ask for another room and the lady at the front desk put us on the 6th floor which was a much cleaner room and we were happy to see that we had towels!! (With the stickers still on them!) But of course moving to another room didn't go smoothly either as I had to go back downstairs when we discovered that the room keys didn't even work! The ladies that work the front office in the morning are not very friendly. (Should get rid of them) They seem grouchy and tired and don't seem to like their job or like helping people. The men who work at night are awesome. There is a hispanic male that was very friendly, helpful and always greeted us with a smile. He deserves a raise. The elevator looks creepy!! We thought someone died in one of them because there is a blood color where you press your floor, cracked glass box, missing screws in some places, it's just dirty and takes a while to open and close. One time it kept opening on the 5th floor and there was no one around!! Also, no shuttle service to and from the airport. (Taxi will cost you about $60 each way not including tip) Also, they say you get "free parking and internet" but you actually don't because you have to pay about $5 per day for that. (We paid $36 at the end of our stay) The internet didn't even work sometimes. :/

Pros: Free breakfast included 4 different types of cereal, frozen waffles, bagels, (their toasters suck!!!) muffins, milk, juice & coffee. Free shuttle service to the parks. This has it's cons too though like, there is one shuttle that picks everyone up at 8:30am to go to Magic Kingdom where you can also take free Disney shuttles to Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios however, most of the time, we had to stand (for 13 minutes going and coming back) because the hotel shuttle picks up from 3 or 4 different hotels as well so by the time he got to Baymont, there was no where to sit. There are only 2 times that is available to go back to the hotel, 6pm and 10pm. This means that you miss out on almost all of the firework and light shows. :( (We got to see part of one show in Epcot) There is also a free shuttle to Epcot at a later time (10:50am & 11:50am) and to Universal Studios. (9:25am) So you do actually save $14-15 everday because you don't have to pay for parking and for the cost of a rental car. (That adds up to about $400+ for one week) I also have to mention that the shuttle drivers are nice and friendly but we got bus sick pretty much everyday due to the way they drive. :/ Also, the bus drivers come early and leave exactly at 6pm and 10pm. Don't ever think that they could be a little late, you gotta be there before hand or you will be calling a taxi back to the hotel. Speaking of taxi, we took one to the Olive Garden which is not too far away and it cost us about $8 each way not including tip. Both drivers were late so if you have to call one, give yourself a 15-25 minute window of time... Back to the pros.... there are places near by to eat at.... McDonalds and Denny's is right accross the street, there's also; Wildside BBQ Bar & Grill, Black Angus Steakhouse (if you don't mind a 15 minute walk), Sizzlers, a Mexican buffet place, and an Indian restaurant.
Some pro's about the room is the TV, it's a good one, and there was a good size refrigerator and microwave. The cost per night was good $47 but honestly, overall we would have paid more for a better hotel. You think the hotel doesn't matter cause you'll be at the parks all day but really, it matters!! There are a lot of other nicer hotels out there that are the same distance or closer that offer free breakfast and free shuttles... pay a little more for something else, it'll be worth it!

Room Tip: The internet and parking aren't really free!!

We booked the hotel along with our Disney tickets for the price. After reading some of the reviews, we were a bit worried that we may have chosen the wrong hotel. After staying a full week there, we are glad we made the choice to stay here. Our room was recently updated, with a 42" plasma LG TV (we were able to hook up our Wii with no problems). The internet worked decently in our room, but my sister said she had issues in her room farther away from the access point. The room was clean, the bathroom was clean, and the cleaning service was decent throughout the week. The breakfast was good, but the toasters were having a hard time keeping up with the amount of people eating. The pool was adequate (kids liked it). There are many restaurants available close by, and the Animal Kingdom and Blizzard Beach are about 5-10 min away.

You cannot check in until 3 pm, so don't try any sooner. Our in room safe did not work (my sister's room did not have a safe). Parking is great unless you get in after 10 (then you have to park way in the back of the parking area).

The shuttle to Disney Magic Kingdom runs at 8:30 in the morning and returns at 6 or 10 pm. We tried it one day and decided against using it again. Very hard to schedule a day with small kids with just 2 available times to return.

Overall this would be a hotel that we would return to.

We tried to check in around 12pm, regular check in time is 3pm but the black unfriendly front desk girl told us to come back at 4pm because she said we booked on hotwire.com. I tried to request a king bed, she replied "No" with an attitude, again mentioned it was booked throught Hotwire. Did she really have to mention "Hotwire"???? I called and talked to a manager, not to ask what I wanted but just to share my experience but he didn't seem to care. I WILL NEVER stay here again.
