“Nice hotel”
Reviewed August 6, 2014

We have just got back from staying in the Melia Orlando Suites. It was a lovely holiday. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with a kitchen (Room No 317) It was facing away from the pool, so it was nice and quiet. The master bedroom had a balcony, a lovely comfortable bed and its own en-suite. The 2nd bedroom had a bathroom attached and again, a lovely comfortable bed. There was loads of space and a huge fridge, a hob and microwave & dishwasher. It had all you could want in a hotel suite and great for a base to come back to. It was nice and tidy and the room was cleaned almost every day. We always had the beds made and fresh towels, but there were a few days when the floors weren't done, but that's not a big deal. We didn't go into the hotel restaurant, but the bar was nice. The pool was lovely and clean, with plenty of towels and loungers available, it was like a warm bath.
It is right on the 192, which is great for access to all the theme parks. It was 20 minutes drive to Universal and about 10-15 to the disney parks and there are plenty of eating places and shopping close by.
The free WiFi was Ok, not brilliant in certain areas, but once you find a good spot then it's fine. Our room's best access was either in the kitchen next to the fridge or in the bathroom!!
Thoroughly enjoyed it and would go again.

Room Tip: facing the pool can be abit noisy as the pool is open from 6am to 11pm, but away from the pool they...

We stayed in a two bedroom suite with a kitchen. The rooms were clean and bright. We had everything we needed to make breakfast, Snacks or a quick lunch. The beds were very comfortable. It was close to all parks and down town Disney. The staff is awesome. Especially Michael from the front desk and Hector the bell boy. I would definitely stay there again. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family.

I have never visited America before our holiday this year, although my wife had several years ago, so my expectations were influenced largely by her earlier experience.
I was sceptical when she raved about how nice the Americans were in general and how lovely their attitude was - well, she was right! They are great people, full of kindness, respect and a genuine interest in helping you in any way they can. As for the place itself, its great - everything is so big! The roads, the cars, the food, the supermarket, even the microwave oven!
Our hotel was perfect from a location point of view (once you sussed out the road layouts), everything was within easy driving distance, whether that be the Attractions, the shops, restaurants, International Drive, the beaches, even the Kennedy Space Centre at Cape Canaveral.
The facilities at the hotel were just right, from the well equipped, generously sized room, to the beautifully refreshing swimming pool. The food is spot on as well and not stupidly expensive either. Simply a great place stay!

Room Tip: We had a one bedroom suite for the three of us, my wife and I and our 11 year old son. they made up...

As my title suggests, our stay (2 adults 3 kids) at the Melia Orlando Suite Hotel was great. The staff and management made our stay relaxing and comfortable and as first timers in Florida were extremely helpful with great advice on local amenities and places to go. The hotel itself was above average but had some things(including the staff) that set it apart from other hotels i've stayed in. The free chauffeur driven 4 x 4 into the beautiful town of Celebration was just one, the location(192/i4 junction) another, 10 mins to Disney, 15mins to iDrive and Universal and an hour to Tampa and Clearwater. The limited but excellent menu in the bar restaurant was reasonably priced as was the bar, $12 a pizza, $5 a pint of Perroni ($3 between 5 and 7). The menu for Fuego, the hotels bistro looked fantastic although we didn't use it.
The pool was warm and relaxing with a 'hot tub' Jacuzzi and no shortage of sunbeds at anytime.
The rooms were spacious, clean and more than adequate.
The 'but' that I feel I have to mention was the 'continental' style breakfast included in the price of the holiday!!! which consisted of muffins, swirly pastries and croissants...that was it.....ok for a few days but even the kids got sick of it. No fruit or cereal, yogurt or anything else that would constitute what we expected in a 'continental' breakfast.
That said there was a menu to choose from that you could pay for.......but we felt that what we had paid for wasn't delivered in that particular instance.
An overall view of our hotel stay and its facilities though would be very good, very enjoyable and relaxing.......good food, good facilities and fantastic staff....a credit to Melia and Thomsons.

Stayed in this hotel in the last two weeks of July 2014. Had a family suite with 2 bedrooms with 1 on suite and 1 family bathroom. Decor inside the rooms looked a little dated, not all drawers in kitchen and bedrooms closed properly, patio door to balcony was extremely difficult to open and close.....Internet rarely connected and when it did it almost instantly disconnected.

Pool area was nice, clean and big enough for hotel size.

Restaurant prices was a little high and was worth venturing out to find something with more choice and a healthier price tag

Great location close to I4 and 192, also Celebration town was excellent

We picked this hotel for its location and that we had a two bedroom suite, sadly after booking the holiday 15 months earlier they did not have any two bed suites left. We ended up with two one bedroom suites next door to each other. No connecting door. It kinda spoiled the hotel for us. Had to stock up both fridges with basics.

But the hotel was clean, friendly people, nice pool area with sun bed. Free breakfast on ground floor which was enough to get you going, or fuller breakfast on floor two.

Breakfast area was the bar at night, really nice, great barman and cocktails.

It's an ideal base for all of the theme parks. We would go again but insist on what we booked.

Room Tip: High rooms facing the theme parks you get a chance to see the firework displays
