“Meh...It was too much for sub-part Cuban food”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

The best part of this place was the bread and butter that they serve. My meal was on a small plate. I got Ropa Vieja. There was barely any actual beef, mostly peppers, and it tasted like it was just marinaded with tomato sauce without much of anything else. I was pretty disappointed and couldn't believe my meal cost over $20 dollars. The service was ok, but the servers were a bit overworked. The place is pretty, and Celebration Florida is alright, but honestly I could have probably gone to a hole in the wall and paid less for better food. Maybe their other dishes are better, but the other two people that were with me felt the same and got different dishes.

We never want to read that our guests did not enjoy their meal. We will share your comment with our chef to make sure that our recipe is being followed. Our president and 4th generation family member always reminds us that we are only as good as our last meal. We stress to our employees that we MUST provide a great meal for everyone who chooses to spend their time and money with us, and I am sorry that we got it wrong on your visit.

“Best of the Columbia group.”

Good food; good service; reasonable price. Try the house wine. Best Cuban bread in the area. Tapas is a good choice if it's your first time and want a good sample.

“Good food. Staff and service is questionable.”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Had lunch here in August. Our waitress was terrible. I'm not sure what she was on but it was apparent she had issues. They allow dogs and that at a restaurant of this quality is just BAD.
A dog dish was on the ground from a previous customer and NO ONE picked it up. She even commented that she was going to trip over it yet she did not even remove it. We notice several tables had not been cleaned off and were still that way when we left. LAZY.....
So she tried to seat us at a table and we requested a different one outside. GOOD THING WE DID!!! 2 ladies came and were seated at the table we were originally supposed to be seated at. Guess what... The freaked waitress steps on the bowl of water out for someone's dog and it flips up and lands on this poor woman's shirt!!! Dog water!!!! We were horrified and the waitress says to the lady that the water was in her way yet NO ONE came and picked it up or cleaned up the table. The manager was a total jerk and isn't even handle the situation at all so I got up and spoke with the woman and told her how long we had been there and watched the whole thing go down and tole her she should absolutely receive a free meal as well as a free meal on her next visit. This restaurant is not a place for DOGS!!! Good food. BAD BAD BAD MANAGEMENT!!!!

We are very sorry for the deplorable actions you witnessed from your server, and later one of our managers. We are owned and operated by 4th and 5th generation family members. The Gonzmart family and Columbia Restaurant hold each employee and family member to maintain safe and proper procedures, no excuses accepted. Thank you for taking the time to let us know about these issues, we can assure you this situation will be handled, to avoid a future occurrence by anyone. We will be speaking to all employees and the management team to review the proper procedures for removing dog water bowls on our outside patio. We hope to have the opportunity to provide a better experience on a future visit.
